$2.15/US gallon for regular unleaded. I actually filled up my American gas guzzling, pretentious, soccer mom Jeep for less than $30.00 on Thursday. I was so happy I called everyone I knew.

Maybe you should have driven over and told them personally.

You know, I could have done that but I had to drive alone to the high school for a booster club meeting. I did tell everyone there, though. :)

94.9 per litre but with my 5p off voucher uner 90 a litre. Hooray (gillingham)

Isn't the American gallon round about our 6 pints?

Answer: 8 pt (US Liq) = 0.832674 gal(UK)

OR 0 gal(UK) and 6.66 pt (UK)

Ta daa

I've been quite pleased about the relatively low price of petrol here recently (1,20 EUR a Litre) until I realised what they are up to.

Until a few months ago, diesel was 20-30 cents cheaper than petrol. Super and Normal (2 and 3 star or whatever) were a couple of cents different.

Then they made Super and Normal the same price. And the price of diesel started slowly creeping up to within a couple of cents of petrol. Not for any economic reason, just because they could.

And now they have cunningly lowered the price of petrol a bit more so it's the same as diesel. Just so you can't say diesel costs more than before, because at the moment it doesn't.

I expect there to be a big price hike soon, now that petrol and diesel have achieved parity.

Bastards.

Prices have dropped considerably in the past weeks here in Tennessee, as is typical for the season. Demand increases in the sunny months and prices follow suit. I drive a big SUV, an even bigger pickup truck and a very fuel inefficient Italian sports car, all of which make a fill up a major financial endeavour, even when prices are low. When the weather permits, I tend to ride my motorcycle.

So you have two large vehicles, one Italian sports car ( Alfa Romeo Spyder by any chance? ) and a motorbike.

I dont think the price of Fuel is really an issue for you, sonny Jim. :)

It's an issue, all right, I find that I drive a lot less when fuel is expensive and tend to ride the motorcycle whenever possible. I've been looking into something with good mileage, but style seem to suffer. :)

Same problem I'm having with the dating game. :(

Come on, Harry. If you drive a F-350, a Hummer, a Harley and a Lambo (examples only) then no one is going to empathize with you on the price of fuel and you know it. Sell one to pay for your gas. If you are concerned with style over mileage, then it's not that big a problem for you.

Everyone around here uses red diesel. :D

There's been a bloody police and customs roadblock near my house all day today. The bastards are randomly checking drivers for illegal diesel usage and have caught many of my friends and neigbours. Luckily I had a tip off and had to drive a rather circuitous route home to avoid the marauding taxraising forces of UK Plc, but's it still been very inconvenient. I looked at the official price of diesel on the way home, it is probably financially more prudent to risk getting occasionally caught and fined for using agricultural diesel than it is to spend that much tax every time you buy the official stuff.
