Brian Hastings (wikidead at 84.

Played for NZ national team, as well as Canterbury from 1958 to 1977.

Giles Cheatle, who won the 1978 Gillette Cup with Sussex against a Somerset team containing Viv Richards, Ian Botham  & Joel Garner, has died aged 71 after a long illness. He later joined Surrey before emigrating to Australia. His daughter Lauren is a former Australian international.

News only seems to have been made public in the last 24 hours but a quick search on Ryerson tells us he died in August:

Still not picked up by Cricinfo after three weeks. Very unusual for them, especially for a former joint holder of a world record partnership. 

 

May I make a plaintive plea for Neil Harvey in the '25 List? Turned 96 two days before Hastings died.

Charles Fry, former Hants & Northants player but better known as former MCC Committee member, Chairman and President who oversaw the introduction of women members, dead aged 84.

 

Son of Stephen Fry (not that one) and Grandson of the more famous C. B. Fry.
