Mohammed Merah, Gunman

Recommended Posts

Latest news is: "Bodies of dead flown to Israel as French authorities say gunman will strike again."

You would think that, in a small city like Toulouse, knowing the scooter model and the gun involved they would be able to trace him quite easily but, by luck or "skill" on the part of the gunman, that evidently isn't the case.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu is claiming that a lone gunman slaughtering Jewish children is nothing like the Israeli military slaughtering Palestininan children: "What especially infuriates me is the comparison of the intended massacre of children to surgical defensive action taken by the IDF that is meant to hit terrorists who use children as human shields."

Evil f*ckwit (Netanyahu and the gunman).

Breaking news: French Police raiding a house owned by a self-declared member of Al Qaeda right now. This might be one of the shortest-lived threads in DL history...

He is now in police custody, so he'll probably last quite a while.

Edit: Then again - he may not be.

He's probably wrapped up in a nice bombvest waiting for the inevitable assault on whichever room he's barricaded in. Hoping to take out a few more frenchies.

Having said that, by the content of the reports I've read, it seems French Intelligence were fully aware of him and actually may have had him under surveillance. Which would put them on a par with Pakistan for "turning a blind eye".

Shooting him dead saves a messy trial - there was never going to be any other outcome.

I'm thinking of putting his brother on my DDP selection for next year, if he makes it that far.

Okay - so will this new moron:

1. Die in a police shoot-out?

2. Commit suicide?

3. Be Captured?

4. Escape?

well i don't think he will escape they never escape . If he is young he will either be captured or die in a police shoot- out . If he is older say in his 50s i think commit suicide.

On another note I was going to visit paris this year but I think it might be safer booking a holiday to central Kabul.

I guess 3. and think you should indeed visit Paris, no matter what. A totally beautiful city that should not be missed for anything. Even the odd gunman. Live closer to the edge I say, it makes live worthwhile. But not so far over that line you find yourself in Kabul. That's more like kar-boom.

Coincidentally, I am going to visit Paris for the first time later this year as well. (I went to France once before but didn't make it to the capital.) It is a long flight for us Aussies. Maybe The Engineer and I could have a DeathList mini-conference over a bottle of chablis in a Parisian cafe. Then again, maybe not.

It will be early October (I haven't actually booked yet so it is not quite set in stone.) I am only spending a few days in Paris, though as I am traveling around a lot, trying to see as much as I can in the limited time available - you Poms don't know how lucky you are just being able to jump on a Chunnel train or ferry and go over to the continent whenever you feel like it.
