torbrexbones 717 Posted February 28, 2017 Now that Space X have said that they will take high paying tourists on a trip round the moon and back are we taking bets on who will go and whether they will get back again or not? Two people have already signed up but their names have not been issued yet.
YoungWillz 21,006 Posted February 28, 2017 Lovely pictures of their rocket blowing up on the launch pad last year. Anyone hope this might just be the next series of The Real Marigold Hotel?

Hopefully one of them is Donald Trump so he can be abandoned on the moon.
Davey Jones' Locker 1,324 Posted February 28, 2017 We had a "spaceship roulette" thing happening in the Richard Branson thread a while ago for Virgin Galactic customers. Since a.) This is a rival operator, b.) They are even more ambitious and c.) Elon Musk is a complete fruitloop (this is the guy who wanted to nuke Mars) maybe we should create a single purpose celebrity commercial spaceflight customer thread somewhere since, eventually, there will have to be a catastrophic failure with welathy celeb customers onboard. After all, they are really just beta testers of the rocketships for us plebs.

alt obits guy 3,371 Posted September 15, 2018 Tax court rules Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte was not entitled to write off his 2009 trip to the International Space Station as a business expense and that the $42 million cost was a taxable benefit. https://globalnews.ca/news/4451263/tax-court-rules-guy-lalibertes-2009-space-trip-was-a-taxable-benefit/
harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,684 Posted April 20, 2023 I see another of Melon Usk’s rockets has come a cropper. Starship was probably too ambitious a name; maybe go with Airplane or Zeppelin for the next one. Nothing’s gonna stop him now, I’m afraid.
