Bush Sr won 426-111, had a seven million vote popular lead and won forty of the fifty states. Landslide for me. Anyhow Trump might not have won a landslide but he did win absolute - electoral college, popular vote, Senate and House, all his.
Sean 6,343 Posted 7 hours ago 1952 1956 and 1964 were also landslides.
Sean 6,343 Posted 7 hours ago I don't think we will ever get a true US landslide like the ones mentioned last century.Too many states that are firmly blue or red.For example I can't ever see California ,Hawaii,Washington ,New York,New Mexico,Connecticut,Illinois Colorado Vermont ,Maryland or Massachusetts ever going red again and conversely I can't see Alabama ,Arkansas ,Texas,Wyoming,West Virginia ,North or South Dakota,Oklahoma,Tennessee,Louisiana, Kentucky ,Indiana or even Florida going blue again.
livingbygrace 373 Posted 7 hours ago I agree with @Sean We are too much of a divided country. I guess though if the right candidate came around, I could see Florida going blue at times. I still see it as a swing state even if in the last elections it went red. It would have to be some kind of special person that can get republican and democrats to vote for the person in a landslide. Nobody in politics today I see as such a candidate
