BELOVED FORUM POSTER DIES

6th September 2019

Robert Mugabe, best known for his many years of insightful posts on Deathlist forums, has sadly died at 95 to give another crowdsource score. He was a familiar and loved figure on the forums, with his wit, anti-racism posts, and long friendship with Deathray who recently married Neil Kinnock’s Welsh Constituency. He also had a bit of a tenuous relationship with your crowdsource host, but you can't please everyone. In these sad Post Hein days, this is the first time we’ve had 100% confirmation of the death of a Deathlist poster, since the death of forum admin Paul Bearer in 2013. Mugabe will be fondly remembered by all fans of his Swingtime Band.

PS It has just reached us that Robert Mugabe was in fact a mass murdering embezzling dictator who ran roughshod over his own people for nearly 40 years. The things that people can get away with, while pretending to be a friendly member of the online community, never cease to shock.

Side note: apart from a few minor tweaks this obit was the work of msc, not me. Since he clearly wanted this obit published for the longest time and I did one of his obits for Stan Lee back in 2018, I decided to give him one obit. Now I'm waiting for the why are you so racist comments...

If anyone ever wants to know what list I used for my own entry, just look at my shadow list. You might find the answer there. :D

Alright everyone, here is a list of every candidate entered for the crowdsource list. I've revealed this for three reasons. 1. msc revealed it for the psat 2 years so it would feel weird to not follow suit. 2. This could give you an idea on who might be good candidates to push for next year's list to replace the deceased/dropped names for next year. 3. to rue their luck on any names who have died during this past year but didn't make the list so that they may prepare to push other names who they want on the list for next year. Interesting DL Pick Tony Britton didn't garner a single vote here, also shocker to see some of the names 51-100 like Wertmuller,Delon,Hiriart,Westbrook and Samu who I thought would be less popular.

I can see why Delon and Westbrook were able to get the amount they got. Not so much the others though

YOU CAN'T HEAR THE DRUMS FERNANDO

12/50

1323700217_images(1).jpg.71dcaed5f1405945399f641d2a9433e4.jpg

18th September 2019

Rangers legend Fernando Ricksen has died at the ripe old age of 43 to give the Crowdsource List yet another hit. He transferred to the Rangers from the Dutch team AZ Alkmaar in 2000 for a the price of 3.75 million pounds. His Rangers career didn't start out easy: he eventually had to be substituted after 21 minutes against Bobby Petta, and he got a five game ban for a Kung fu style kick on Darren Young. He eventually had won awards such as two Scottish Premier League titles, two Scottish Cups, and 3 Scottish league cup, and he was eventually inducted into the Rangers hall of fame. Despite this, he still did plenty of controversial things throughout his career, making him a decisive figure among football fans. He was diagnosed with ALS in 2013, and recent downturns secured him a spot on the list for the past two years. This is his 3rd appearance on the list, jumping all the way to the 9th spot on the list.

CHIRAC EST MORT

13/50

Jacques-Chirac-2004.thumb.jpg.6a924927e1abb3a8d446caf43f718895.jpg

26th September 2019

Former French President has died at 86 to push the Crowdsource list to a score of 13 during the waning days of 2019. He began his career as the head of personal staff of George Pompidou, who Chirac considered his mentor. He also received the nickname Le Bulldozer during that time due to his abrasive manner. Well, he clearly bulldozed his way up the political ladder as he gained important political positions throughout the next few decades, particularly with being the prime minister and counterpart to Giscard d'Estaing. He finally became President in 1995, which lasted 12 years. Like many politicians around the world, he was very mixed. He opposed the invasion of Iraq, a war which was fabricated by the US government. On the other hand, he had his fair share of corruption dealings, eventually being convicted of some of those dealings in 2011. His health was slowly declining, and crowdsource folk gave him a high debut in 2017. He only made it to the 37th spot in his 3rd appearance on the list though.

I can’t say exactly which people actually chose Schaffernacker on their list unless they want to reveal themselves. All I’ll say is that it’s someone fairly well known on the forum picked them on their list...

50 would have been a farewell gift, 11 is just stingy.

All it seems to take is 4 people given him 50 and one 20 and he'd stand a good chance of getting on the list.

Remember that in December, folks. 49 points is still good for whoever you'd want at 50.

EMMERDEAD

14/50

Zoe-played-by-Leah-Bracknell.jpg.6ab2fababd4c326db471012e75677e59.jpg

16th October 2019

Former Emmerdale actress and forum favorite Leah Bracknell has died after a long cancer bout in order to become the 14th reported death of the year. Early in her career she appeared in the show The Chiffy Kids in 1976, which was directed by her father David Bracknell. It was Emmerdale, however, where she really left her impact at. She played Zoe Tate, a vet and land owner who was much more well known as one of the first prominent lesbian characters in a soap opera. She was fairly popular on the show and her tenure in Emmerdale lasted 16 years, eventually leaving the show in 2005 and the British Soap Award for Best Exit the following year. In recent years her popularity once again shot up really highly, this time due to the fact that she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2016. Never leaving the top 2 in the crowdsource list she was arguably the most popular pick overall to date, though with any long cancer lingerer, the thought of fraud goes inside people's head. However, her death does bring the crowdsource list on level with every other year thus far apart from 2017, with still two and a half months left to go...

REPORT OF CLIVE JAMES'S DEATH...*

15/50

image.jpg.6e60c37b9abbd72bd4d98df1fa740c55.jpg

24th November 2019

Well known Australian critic, broadcaster, and dead pool teaser Clive James has finally succumbed to a nearly decade long cancer battle in order to make the list have the second best score to date. He began his career as a literary critic before he joined The Observer in 1972, where he became known for his wry, deadpan humor. Since then, he was able to do lots of things that lead him to higher status: from writing poetry to presenting on BBC radio, to hosting his own show on ITV called Clive James on Television, his impact on the UK was undeniable. He even once quipped that Arnold Schwarzenegger in his body building days looked like "a brown condom full of walnuts." As for his political views, he was identified as a social democrat, although his views on the Iraq War were quite strange for a social democrat, among other things. He's perhaps best known for his time as a dead pooling tease. Perhaps no name has stayed on the minds of dead pooling folk as long as Clive did, as he was fighting cancer since 2011 and was close to death so many times before. However, the will he won't he speculation finally ended as he died from the cancer at the age of 80. This was his fourth year on the list, jumping up all the way to the 8th spot.

* I'm well aware this is the same photo as the Deathlist's photo, but I like it a lot so I'm shamelessly stealing it. :P

ANNIE SELLS THE FARM

16/50

c0895c8b65c7e0838f7ab959ad6f336f.thumb.jpg.1cc21c93197d08b1a89fd52cbe4f13e3.jpg

13th December 2019

UK soap actress Sheila Mercier has died to bring the crowdsource list up to a very respectable score. She began her career as a stage actress, working on Donald Wolfit's Shakespeare company till 1951. She then worked with her brother Brian Rix in the Whitehall farces, a series of five plays that ran throughout the 1950s and 1960s. These performances were televised on the BBC, with critics noting that Mercier "was up to the second in tempo sense of fun." It was in 1972, however, where she performed in her biggest role in her career. Mercier was among the original cast of Emmerdale, and in it she played Annie Sugden, the head of the Sugden family. Sheila was among the main cast members of the show, staying on the show for another 22 years (being one of two original cast members still around for the 20th anniversary) before retiring in 1994. She has made occasional appearances since then for the funeral of her sons Joe in 1995 and Jack in 2009. She also made an appearance in a special programme in honor of the 5000th episode of Emmerdale. Given her old age and her impact on Emmerdale, she was a bit of a popular pick for some, as she was making her way to a second appearance on the crowdsource list. However, instead she died at the ripe old age of 100, only sneaking on at the 49th spot on this year's list.

It should be noted though that like any dead pool barring the likes of Deathrace and co, it is a marathon rather than a sprint. We went nearly four months without any hits (and it looked like it might've been a dismal year), and look at the list now. It's at its second best performance to date...
