Guest billythesquid Posted April 25, 2005 um no it wasnt, it had more to do with the downfall of the catholic church. "I write in obedience to you, my God, who command me to do so through his Excellency the Bishop of Leiria and through your Most Holy Mother and mine. "After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendor that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: 'Penance, Penance, Penance!'. And we saw in an immense light that is God: 'something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White 'we had the impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God." http://www.marianland.com/thirdsec.html

Wozza 0 Posted July 6, 2005 Reading through this thread, it has become apparent we are no longer discussing the nun. It has become a religious education by Catholic believers. I never actually knock religion, I believe there is a place for it...but I hate the way it is interpreted by religious leaders and believers. Who are you to tell anyone they will go to hell because they are not believing or following in what you so arrogantly call the truth. I for one have no religious beliefs, but I go through life as a relatively harmless and nice person and don't believe I have anything to be sorry for when it comes to judgement day (if indeed this day exists). Prove it to me if you can! A religious believer feels they are 100% right, and no matter what is said, you can not sway their views because they are RIGHT. What gives you the right to try and change other people's views. I detest the FACTS that are quoted at us with absolutely no proof. Proof is not because someone said so, this is secondary evidence and would not hold up in a court of law. And a book that was written years ago, namely the bible, which religious leaders choose to use to their advantage. Before you even go there, I am not anti-gay, but is there not a passage that states something along the lines of "man shall not lay with man". Now their are gay priests, this part is ignored in religious breifings. So Eileen, I would be interested in your answers? Wozza
Deadornot 12 Posted July 13, 2005 well, since she was 'sister' lucia that would explane the whole catholic idea.
Guest Guest_Star Crossed Posted August 23, 2005 I have just spent the best part of 2 hours reading this thread. Assuming I live three-score-and-ten years, I've just spent 0.0000032% of my entire life reading this thread. It's late and my eyes are sore now, but I don't consider any of that time to have been a waste. Classic DL fare from start to finish. So far so good... P.S. This is my first post. I've been a DL watcher for a while but never posted until now. I wish my post had been better, certainly less sycophantic. I registered as Star Crossed a couple of weeks ago, but whenever I try to post while logged-in as Star Crossed, I get an error message. Any chance a Mod could sort this for me? Cheers. Mods aren't gods don't you know. Also by reading your first ever post i've been hoping that you will have many more to come. I think from my judgement you have what it takes to be a deathlist regular around here. Being honest i wouldn't have the heart to read about Sister Lucia for 2 hours long but perhaps that's just me. As far as you logging in try a couple more times it should work and if it refuses to just create another name maybe similar to the one you had before? It's also intresting how you actually calculated your time reading this thread. A bit strange in my view. Though the real truth is your wasting your life all of the time. When you drop your car keys and you have to pick them up or even when you buy your dearly beloved girlfriend a peice of jewlery she wanted and demanded for, but later on you find out you got the wrong one and you have to return it back to the store. . . Anyhow welcome to the DL...
Dr Strangelove 14 Posted August 23, 2005 On the subject of Nuns I found this recent story interesting Nun stages DaVinci protest “The Church should not be accepting money for something that is not a true story.” Do I need to spell out why I find that ironic? Tuber Mirum 125 Posted August 23, 2005 What kind of a nutter would read this thread from start to finish? Isn't this the one with all those page-long dogmatic diatribes from the Lovely Eileen? There are better threads you know. Still it would be an improvement to have more members with a better balanced read/write ratio. Welcome Star Crossed. I hope you get your login sorted.
