How about guessing she isn’t near death enough for the list?

The holdovers are good picks. Save for 2 or 3, the additions are godawful. SC

I know y'all think I"m forgetful....etc.... but I work every day 12 hours (6a-6p), every day since Dec 3, and I'm working now in fact trying to get this together lol , throw in the fact I have basically two trainees and I've had little time to DP as I had hoped this week. The trainees weren't part of the program 10 days ago, and just left yesterday. So it's playing catch-up for me. I apologize to all the DP admins...believe you me I'd like to submit better teams. I just cut/pasted DDP team and added a few names off top of my head lol for this list. SC

A REFEREE has died in hospital in Mexico after being attacked by a player he red-carded during a match. Jose Valdemar Hernandez Capetillo lost his fight for life after spending a week in a coma. He was rushed unconscious to hospital in Xalapa, the capital city of the eastern Mexico State of Veracruz, on December 24 after being assaulted by a player from amateur side Guadalajara during a match in the city’s PEMEX - El Castillo stadium. He died in the early hours of yesterday. SC

"The Australian state of Victoria recently legalised assisted suicide. This law, when enacted, will enable a resident who has lived in Victoria for at least a year, and who has a terminal, incurable illness with a life expectancy of less than six months, to obtain a lethal drug to commit suicide. Victoria has now joined the ranks of the Netherlands, Canada, Belgium, Colombia and Luxembourg which have legalised euthanasia. Several states in the United States, including California, Washington, Vermont and Oregon, have passed laws allowing assisted suicide." Rest of article discusses the new law that was passed. SC

The Los Angeles Zoo has euthanized its herd of Nubian ibex after determining the goats were infected with a highly contagious and incurable strain of herpes. The zoo discovered the virus after six African antelope fell ill and died in October of malignant catarrhal fever. The zoo's Nubian ibex, typically found in the mountains of the Middle East, were identified as the source of the disease, which develops from a herpes virus usually carried asymptomatically. SC

haha excellent point mate. Well I already see I've no chance this year. Not sure how everyone thinks....how the hell is Falkholt not a slam dunk first few names on your lists I do not know. I anticipated Drop 40 slam dunk for her, but I don't see another team listing her that posted. lol oh well. I lose 6 points cuz I chose her as Joker over Bracknell. Ugh! SC

If I had allotted more time, and wasn't such a silly goose with my goofy theme teams I threw together in an hour, I'd have sent in a 'theme team' primarily with the intent of destroying a number of names I wasn't quite ready to use, but were likely being used by other, and taking down any possibility of a unique hit. Don't hate the player, hate the game. I very likely will use this tactic next year, so hate me now cuz it's gonna happen. SCreep

That's correct, I hope everyone lived and learned vicariously through my boner last year. A-hem. SC

While going over names presently for 2018 teams, I had a star by Doddie Weir, but my follow-up research found this photo and if he is upright and looking at all decent (which he is), putting his name anywhere near a roster in 2018 seems premature. Happy to check in on Doddie in late 2018 though and see where he is at. To that end, Google wasn't very forthcoming with links about Mr. Weir to any of our DDP sources, so I question his obit chances at the moment. Again, let's see that play out. SC

Ben Barres, a prominent neuroscientist who was transgender, has died at age 63 of pancreatic cancer. Barres died Wednesday, 20 months after his cancer diagnosis, according to a press release from Stanford University, where he was a professor. Barres’s research established the importance of glial cells, collectively known as glia, which make up nine out of 10 brain cells that aren’t nerve cells but were once dismissed by scientists as insignificant. Barres and his team made discoveries regarding the role of certain glial cells in such degenerative disorders as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s diseases; multiple sclerosis; amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s disease; and glaucoma. He once called this “the most important discovery my lab has ever made.” A very interesting and brilliant man. Don't get a lot of females transitioning to male, so here's one. He speaks about it in a video attached in obit. SC

True! On a serious note, both deaths were in winter, and a sad commentary on how the poor are treated worldwide, but esp here in America. SC

Portman Jr., the architect and developer whose post-modernist, and sometimes controversial, style won him acclaim while altering the skylines of Atlanta and cities around the world died Friday. The Fringes Of Fame/family Of The Famous
Sir Creep replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
Isaac Newton Farris Sr., husband of Christine King Farris and brother-in-law of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., died peacefully at home Saturday, the family announced. He was 83. Farris, a founding member of the King Center Board of Trustees, married Christine King Farris in 1960 in a ceremony performed by her brothers, Martin and A.D. Farris was an entrepreneur who served as a project manager for the construction of the Martin Luther King Center for Nonviolent Social Change. He also was a deacon and trustee at Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he was a member for more than 60 years. I was dreaming of putting him on my 2018 DDP team. I no longer have a dream. SC -
It's absolutely astounding the mental gymnastics one must endure in their tiny little brains to conclude that "it's possible" Charlotte Rae could fail to obit. Granted, we are talking the same troupe of Rhode's Scholars around here that had misgivings about Pat Harrington, who is for all intents and purposes the male Charlotte Rae. SC

Yes should have said DDP, I guess I'm DDP-centric as I stare at my list I've created 1-20 and no entries yet.

Mildred Fishman Gardiner, a roving photographer who spent decades wandering North Beach (San Fran area) taking Polaroids of people in cafes and restaurants, died Thursday at San Francisco’s Laguna Honda Hospital. She was 94. For more than 60 years, “Millie,” as everyone knew her, was as much a part of the North Beach fabric as Gino & Carlo, the bar on Green Street, or SS Peter and Paul Church on Washington Square. She was around for so long and such a part of the streetscape that it seemed she had always been there. SC -
Danny Breen, a Second City performer of the early 1980s who became a successful Hollywood actor and producer, has died at age 67. He died at his Los Angeles home after a seven-year fight with cancer. Breen performed alongside George Wendt, Tim Kazurinsky and Jim Belushi in a series of Second City revues starting in 1979. He later moved to Los Angeles, where he was part of the ensemble on HBO’s satirical series “Not Necessarily the News.” Later he produced TV series including “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” and “The Wayne Brady Show.” SC
