That is not true. The word 'gaudy' is much older than that, it's in Shakespeare. Comes from the Latin gaudere, meaning rejoice/celebrate, I think. Those A levels not completely forgotten

This is sad. Oh, & thanks for letting me know, through this post, that there's an official Gary Numan Facebook page. I went & liked it. I'm not a particular fan, but a friend on Facebook is and shared the post which is how I knew. Gary Numan posted a very loving tribute to both his parents which I thought was quite sweet of him. He also is a fuckin nut, so may be a tipping point perhaps... Is he? I don't know much about him. Might be one to put on the watch list then. He's a pilot isn't he? Risky business, flying. Apart from having Aspergers, I think he's fairly normal.

I might recommend them to start putting him back on the death list, cause he might die soon.
