I remember Jim Joel as a successful owner and breeder of racehorses. If anyone is looking him up, note that Jim was not his first name as his name always appeared in the racecards as H.J. Joel. I think the H was for Harry or Henry, but don't know for sure.

I'm certainly tempted to get it from the library.

A kebab shop called Khyber Pass has been caught selling food contaminated with human faeces. The clue was in the name -
I must have confused him with this chap.

And is now DEAD. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/obituaries/Author-religious-scholar-Phyllis-Tickle-dies-at-age-81-328730261.html Unknown Man gets a hit on Shaun's deadpool, when there's a QO. I forgot who listed her but I recall seeing her name and groaning cuz I had forgotten her. I knew she was a goner. Well done whoever it was. SC Frustrating. My shortlist is getting shorter. And she's probably not the last one of them to die. I had prepared to field a "B-Team", a second main theme with slightly more extraordinary choices. The chances for that one dim. On the other hand, that would make room for a "Game of Thrones" theme team (called Game of Bones). Valar morghulis.

and father-in-law of Edward Woodward and grandfather to Emily Woodward but no relation to Ed Wood, Roy Wood or Woody Woodpecker or summat. So, what state - health-wise - is Roy Dotrice in? Pretty good for 92 as far as I know apart from being a bit thin and having previously fought cancer. Geoffrey Bayldon on the other hand looks pretty bad in this public appearance last year.Looks like a cold or fall could easily finish him off. Well Im guessing that his family have kept the shoe box and the receipt, those shoes look fugging brand new and its not like they are going to get much wear is it. A quick gob and polish and they will be as new ready to take back to Deichmanns, eh. Why the crappy wheelchair, though? Surely he must have a decent one of his own?

Is this new information, or yet another misinterpretation of his brief hospice stay while his wife was away? No it isn`t knew but it is clear from the article that his wife is providing hospice cere of some sort at home on a permanent basis otherwise he wouldn`t have been admitted while she was away. No, it just means that his wife is his principal carer. It's not uncommon for people (even those not at death's door) to have short stays in a hospice to give their carers a respite. It's one of the functions of a hospice.

He appeared in Worzel Gummidge as the Crowman. He is now 91. Last TV appearence before retirement was 2010. I have heard he is in poor health (no specifics though) these days, though that's from the old Lord Hennessey "private information" trick rather than the press. He was in 'A Night To Remember' so he is in my Titanic theme team.

Nasty little post. "Happy birthday" would have been sufficient.

I am currently suffering from intermittent internet, which I put down to the fact that they have just installed superfast fibre broadband locally. Not that I'm cynical or anything, but I bet it would mysteriously cure itself the moment I order an upgrade.

Brown bread = dead, and it also adds an extra little nuance to my name Toast (another synonym for dead), since toast can be described as brown bread.

They were terrific. No support, just time to collect winnings for a wee after the last race, and Madness were on stage just after 5 pm. Here's my pic, complete with the mandatory huge bloke standing in front ... I had room to dodge about a bit though, luckily. -
Sad to see him go. I had a soft spot for the old curmudgeon.

Do you know if it is still there? Or are you just assuming it is after over ten years? Seems like a lot of you unbearable middle age lefties seem to base your entire world view on one-night experiences you had years ago. "I had a nice lamb once, so... that's proof they're all peaceful innit, and anyone who protests Halibuts immigration should be thrown in a gulag!" And that's how we end up with a continent full of people who think pork is "to die for".

Just so we're clear on the rules here, shooter tops themselves, doesn't count right? Only if he was the sole victim. Otherwise it is par for the course. Seems like gunman may be another Proffesor http://www.14news.com/story/30025217/active-shooter-at-delta-state-university?clienttype=generic but I guess that's a bit academic now. Hmm, sounds like a domestic anyway.

Way beyond the cusp, BBC obit guaranteed as well as probably being the lead obit that day in the Guardian. Would probably even get a tribute show on Radio 2 actually. Oh wow.... I was having my doubts because so far, the news has only been announced on a local US station, the Toronto Star, and specialist magazines. But my research wasn't all that deep, obviously. There's also the Amy Winehouse connection - Sharon's band the Dap Kings also recorded with Amy.

If Andrew had another legitimate child, he or she would come into the line of succession after Beatrice and Eugenie. Edward, Anne and their families would all be bumped down one place. Before the recent legislation, a boy would have been placed before Beatrice and bumped both girls down a place, and a girl would have come after them.

I thought Tommy Cooper was dead. -
Nothing of note to update Ms. Bettencourt, but I only recalled her name and really couldn't place her. So after wiki -- I'm being told that she, basically the owner of L'Oreal and not much else I can attest to, is somehow the 10th wealthiest person in the world with $41B? For cosmetics??????? WTF? And it isn't like it's the only cosmetic line, though maybe they have a 90% market share in Europe or some shit? How in fucking hell does owning L'Oreal make someone $41B. Bollocks I say. And anyone responding defending that statistic I say bollocks to you as well. Poppycock in fact! SC L'Oreal is a big name in skincare and hair products as well as make-up. They also own a lot of other brands, so their market share must be enormous. Apart from that, the answer to your question is probably shrewd investments.
