How about disqualifying the Daily Mail, that should rule out a shedload of obscure nonentity picks.

Wow I'd heard of two of those people. Shall I presume Laugh-In wasn't on the telly in the UK? Would it have been the first five names on that list would be household names, or the previous poster's comment was unique to their household. SC It was on BBC 2 I've only heard of two of them as well. Probably the same two. We didn't have BBC2 for a long time. You had to have a new-fangled telly to get it, and my parents didn't replace things till they stopped working altogether. A trait I seem to have inherited.

Okay, but even if he is back at home, "his condition has deteriorated significantly", so I still think his days are numbered. I drew attention to that at the time.

Yes, pay attention! The report on 26 July included the following information:

Emigrate? Oh cool, you're going to use your David Blaine magic kit to create a country that isn't already Islamic, or lead by gullible turnip-brained fucktards who let these people in, and then flee to it. Can I come?

Disgusting that they have even had to ask the public for contributions. It's less than a week's wages for many of today's players. Why didn't current and recent England players have a whip-round, it's small change to them.

Yes, okay hebephilia if we want to get technical... Weren't most of Rolf's victims adolescents too? I don't see why we shouldn't be picky technical. There is a big difference between being sexually attracted to teenagers who are legally minors, and being sexually attracted to prepubescent children. We have words at our disposal that distinguish between the two, and it is a great pity that the word 'paedophilia' is so carelessly bandied about. Why should our rich language be rendered increasingly imprecise? I don't mind going on the record here. I've always tended toward 'younger' women, my wife was 7 years my lesser (at 35) for instance. However let's not get carried away. I'm not talking about fahkin 12-yr olds here, but certainly 16-17 would have been my fancy, as I was 18 once too you know. Guess that made me a felonious peadophile in some eyes. Oh well. (As if). SirC It's absolutely natural for men to be attracted to young girls who have passed puberty. Once Mother Nature has given us the wherewithal to reproduce, she expects us to get on with it. Just because humans in some places have invented laws limiting the age at which they consider it acceptable, it doesn't make the instinct or desire unnatural or perverted.

No chance, unless you mean "is there an outside chance she's already died and it hasn't been reported" which is a slightly different thing.
  13. That reminds me of the one about the wake when the neighbour said to the widow, "He looks so happy and serene", and the widow replied, "Well, he died in his sleep you see, so he doesn't know he's dead at all yet. But when he wakes up and finds out that he's dead, the shock of it will kill him."

Edward John Barrington Douglas-Scott-Montagu, 3rd Baron Montagu of Beaulieu, to give him his full moniker. Article up. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-34106225 A DDP team gets the motor running, head out on the highway.... A complete aside: Cajun French pronounces that surname BOWL-yay.... Or some mouthful-of-crawfish thing along those lines. Any Parisian French speakers can tell me how that should really be pronounced? Appreciated in advance. SC In France one would pronounce Beaulieu BOW (as in bow and arrow) L'YUH. That's a reasonable approximation. There are a number of places in France named Beaulieu. The English one is pronounced Bew-lee, for no logical reason that I have ever been able to fathom. We normally pronounce Beau as BOW, and lieu as L'YOO or LOO. Except when it is part of Lieutenant when we pronounce it LEF (bangs head against desk).

Who Should Be On The 2015 Deathlist?

Horse people Yes. I'm not a "horse person" as such, but I've heard of him. The Melbourne Cup usually gets a write-up in the UK media, and he was often the winning trainer.

    Ken Dodd

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Dodd wound up doing a Tommy Cooper on stage, he will literally keep touring till he reaches either the morgue or the nursing home I'm surprised there's still an audience.
  20. They haven't got everything right, though. "Prince William will become the new Prince of Wales — Charles’ current role." While that may well happen, it's not automatic. 'Prince of Wales' is a title in the gift of the monarch. Prince Charles himself wasn't created Prince of Wales until 1958, six years after his mother's accession. This is actually quite important the opportunities for pomp are part of the thing that keeps the monarchy popular. I think about three years after Charles becomes king they will all decamp to Caernavon for the investiture. If it happens sooner than that then I would think Charles would need to go on the list. Ah, but PC's Investiture took place a long time after he was made PoW. The ceremony isn't a necessary part of it. But times are different, and it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't give William the title for a few years, or even not at all. William already has a dukedom and other titles, so there's no urgency about it. By comparison, the Queen could have given Anne the title of Princess Royal at any time after 1965 (when the previous holder died), but she kept it back for years so that it could be seen to have been earned through Anne's charity work. True he was also made PoW when he was 19 years old so just after he reached his majority a milestone William has already passed. No, he was 9 when he was created PoW in 1958. You are thinking of the investiture ceremony which took place on 1 July 1969 when he was 20. This was the same year that the age of majority was reduced from 21 to 18, but I don't think that was a factor.
  21. Why not invite Lard Bazaar over and set her on him? I'm sure she'd be up for doing a friend a favour.
