I'll pass. Fifty names is too many for me.

"Former professional cricketer" ? Lol, aye right. A Bolton League player, both his sons played in it as well, and they weren't pros. I feel sure that his death would not have made it on to the BBC News front page if he hadn't had such a silly name.

"I knew you couldn't sing, but I didn't know you couldn't fucking speak". Brilliant.

Spooky. I've just been reading Fahrenheit 451.

Vera Lynn again.

Price you pay for pond hopping. I personally cringe every time I hear "aluminum". The thing that irritates me most is when they say "I could care less", when they mean the opposite.

There's a reason for that. Enlighten us... Because it's an old thread dating from before the forum upgrade. The tagging came in with the new software. Or summat like that.

Died of natural causes, yet slipped and fell and hit her head? Interesting use of the term... Depends. Quite likely she had a stroke, which caused her to fall. That's how my granddad went.

"People that have followed my work know that I draw a paper plate for every dead celeb." He's got BB King and Terry Pratchett plates on offer too

Will Cliff attend Cilla's funeral, do we think?

I believe I recently mentioned Sparks "Number One Song In Heaven" in this connection. But I also quite fancy Jon & Vangelis "I'll Find My Way Home".

Shouldn't this discussion be on the sci-fi TV thread? It's not really about John Hurt, is it?
-
How very appropriate. I do think PO'S would be a more respectful abbreviation, though.

You may have a point. Here's cynical me listening to the Today programe this morning; hearing "perfectionist," "gentleman" and "loner" in the discussion and telling Mrs MPFC that by this afternoon the first of his "victims" would be touting him/herself around. D'ya think, there really are some decent people in the world? Who knew, eh? Well I think they would have come forward by now if they were going to.Hard to get a dead man in court.Besides horse racing doesn`t tend to attract kids in the same way Top of the Pops or Rolf`s cartoon club so I think his legacy is safe. From what I read he wasn`t exactly a loner he just didn`t have any close relationships with people other than his wife.but had many acquaintances and travelled a lot which may suggest him being introverted but a loner not really.I think there are decent people in this world they are just few and far between. Also anyone else thinking we should replace his place on DL with Murray Walker? "Horse racing doesn`t tend to attract kids" - It does attract undersized young lads and girls who aspire to become jockeys, but mostly spend their time mucking out stables. I never heard anything untoward about Peter O'Sullevan in that context though, and I'm pretty sure I would have done if there was anything of that nature.

Betty Driver Memorial Soapstar Superstar Thread
Toast replied to M Busby Airlines's topic in DeathList Forum
I only remember her from clips of the show when they ran tributes for other actors that were in it about the same time such as Pat Phoenix I might have remembered her - the character's name is certainly familiar - but my parents' TV only got BBC, so I never saw Coronation Street until the telly eventually died and was replaced. -
Approaching 49 but thanks to good genetics and a decent face cream I look about 34-36. I have a favourite mirror like that, too.

I think that news decides a whole lot of things... Going into a hospice to give your carer a break is one thing, but this seems to be the key line in that report: "Friends say Crowe is now housebound and his condition has deteriorated significantly since he was last seen in public during the Cricket World Cup in March."

Not forgetting regular appearances as next-door neighbour Mary in The Royle Family. -
I think they should all have threads of their own. [removes tongue from cheek]

I've never heard of him, or that other dude, the Mr Ed one. I just can't see the point in creating separate threads for people who are of very limited interest. As opposed to people who have lots going on, are regularly in the news, have well-documented health issues or reckless lifestyles etc etc. Even then, some of them can share a thread, as with the scatty bimbo thread.
