Any chance of having a separate section for polls and (especially) sweepstakes? I hate it when threads get cluttered up with deathdate guesses instead of news.
-
They say it is not enough. And they will keep saying it till an US based obit appears. Wikipedia? Then they have just taken a massive nose-dive in my estimation. Ignorant cunts.

"The prince, who retired from public life last year, has long complained that he did not become king instead of his wife when she acceded to the throne in 1972. A change in the Danish Constitution 19 years earlier had allowed female succession. Even before that, Henrik wouldn't have become king. " Sounds like he's never been the sharpest knife in the box.

What disgusts me is the almost universal use of baby-talk instead of using a proper term like faeces or excrement. Even the BBC. Shit times. -

I wonder if anyone bothered to ask for permission to reproduce it. People tend to be over-anxious about copyright. Often asking politely and including the appropriate credit is all that's required.

There already is one. An exasperated one would be useful though.

http://www.royalmint.com/discover/uk-coins/the-coins-of-2017 The Queen's Sapphire Jubilee £5 In her long reign Her Majesty The Queen has marked Silver, Golden and Diamond Jubilees and the nation has celebrated with her each time. As The Queen reaches an unprecedented milestone of 65 years since coming to the throne – the first and only British monarch to celebrate a Sapphire Jubilee – The Royal Mint has created an official UK coin to mark the moment.

Things To Do While Waiting For Death
Toast replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Really. I thought it was quite an appropriate song for the site given the numerous references to death. -
Another irritating American expression "panties in a bunch". Sooooo inferior to our own much snappier "knickers in a twist".

Patty Hearst. I could name a good few others, but never mind. Stephanie is certainly not "famous for being ill". She will be remembered by many people in the UK as this was quite a notorious case. I am sorry that she did not have a long happy life after all she went through.

Whoever wrote that seems completely oblivious of Jill's condition. I would only say that full-time care doesn't come cheap, so it's understandable if he wants to liquidate an asset.

I've tried a couple of his books, but don't get it. It all seems a bit juvenile and not as funny as I was led to believe, given his massive popularity. I've got the book he wrote with Gaiman on the shelf (charity shop buy) so will give that a go, as Gaiman can be very good. I haven't liked everything of his though, so not getting my hopes up too much.

I suspect it may be similar to Sir Creep's "rule" that death anniversaries may only be posted if the anniversary is a multiple of 5 years.
-
There is? Nobody ever told me about this unspoken rule.

Is this one of those British people that are only known by the British?

People who have lost all hope in life don't give a shit what they wear. That's another fact.

Whom Are You Tarring With The Epithet "twunt"?

Good grief, have I really? I hope at least some of them have been useful or entertaining. -
I assume "tractor-trailer" means something different in the USA.

Yeah, Oxford would do me. Not much to ask, really.
