Updated for the death of Rosa Lee Hawkins.

Died from surgical complications it seems. Weirdly neither sister ever married. They lived together and stated they were "married to showbiz". Rosa did have a son and grandchildren though.

Only Barbara Ann Hawkins left now.

Updated for the death of Ronnie Spector (then Ronnie Bennett). Very sad news.

Just Nedra Talley, 76 this month, remains now.

    This is an interesting case.

His death has finally been accepted on Wiki as per the source here. It says he died from cancer.

What it doesn't say is what users on Reddit have been discussing – he had a 13 year cancer battle and then shot himself in the head at the end of it.

Of all the SP references, the episode where they rip on Honey Boo Boo (and she gets a pig heart transplant) is definitely the most apt here

Doreen Brownstone (born September 28, 1922) in Leeds, Yorkshire, England - British actress at 99, still active playing in films and television, also active in social media. Resides in Canada.

That article is from 2014. Last credit on IMDb is from 4 years ago. Her last tweet was in August 2021. She turned 99 five months ago, and yet still hasn't updated her bio on Twitter from "98 year old" to "99 year old". Doesn't sound too active to me. I will add her on my "one to watch" list.

As a non-European, how significant is David Sassoli's death?

I'm not familiar with how important the European Parliament, and who runs it, would be to the average citizen.

In the UK, pretty irrelevant. In order of where the story is listed on news apps here, it's 12th on the BBC News and the 18th on Sky News. I don't think it will even be on their main grid by tonight.

I must confess, never heard of Sassoli. I stopped paying any attention to EU politics around 2017 when the UK formally left, and back then Martin Schulz was President of the Parliament, someone who I have met before.

  8. His Wiki page has been reverted again.

SoulTracks not a reliable source to some editors it seems  I mean, it’s never not been reliable in all other cases on there in the past.

Though I suppose SoulTracks do nothing to help themselves with the old fashioned blog type layout and their lack of details (eg they never include the date of death, even when it’s available elsewhere). I’m not sure if much else will come. The interest seems to have waned already.

  9. This “sad news for the Queen” shite that the tabloid press keep pushing every time someone she knows dies is becoming tiring, and just as silly as the “Sad Last Days” Enquirer headlines.

The Queen literally has thousands of people who have made some kind of impact in her life. So many that it’s almost impossible for a normal person to comprehend in their mind, because she’s shook more hands and had more 2 minute conversations than anyone else in the entire country, ever (maybe even the world).

The death of her sister’s lady of the robes and an obscure journalist is the type of shite that will make her say “oh dear, that’s a pity”, not something that’s going to set her back. All of her close family and confidantes are younger than her. Their deaths WOULD affect her. Now if someone like Charles predeceased, that probably see her out, but it’s not likely to happen.

    Hello!  First-time poster here.

    Should we consider the following?

    Charles Osgood (journalist) - 89 (1/8/33)

    Dan Rather (journalist) - 90 (10/31/31)

    Too soon for both?

P.S.  It pains me to name anyone from the original Star Trek series, but Nichelle Nichols has been declining since her bout with pancreatis in 2012.  Won't waste my time with the other three living stars from the show since they all seems to be in good health - William Shatner (90), George Takei (84), and Walter Koenig (85).

    Welcome! Great first post.

I agree. Nichelle seems like the natural choice as the next faller from the original Star Trek series.

Do you have anything constructive to contribute on here?

You don't even report any deaths anymore, or even discuss anything. You just moan at other members and post sarcastic taunts.

Seriously, go have a wank or something if you need to release some steam.

One of my favourite musical films incidentally. Thoroughly recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Updated cast list for Fiddler on the Roof following the death of George Little. He was the oldest surviving cast member.

Well Johnny Carson was a comedian, so I'm sure his brother was pretty funny too, not to mention as director of the Tonight Show and other shows he must have done some kind of comedy writing, or have had input into the jokes, the director doesn't just press a record button. So I am sure that comedy writing was one of the strings on his bow, even if other strings were more substantial. What a tribute to such a great talent to be included on multiple threads.

When you’re wrong, take it on the chin. Don’t try and bs your way out of it.
