    Dom Mintoff

Please note that Dom Mintof was a communist dictator. He was a friend of all the scum listed in the exclusive 'Axis of Evil' list. Why don't we change the job description from prime minister of Malta to one of the following: -Communist Pig of Malta -Terrorist butt licker -Mad Dictator -Mini Saddam Any other suggestions welcomed.

    Clive Dunn

Clive Dunn must deserve some sort of honour. He appeared as no1 in the 1987 list, and is still in there at 50 in this years list. Perhaps he is only hanging on for spite, in the hope that he drops off next year - and then can drop off for good.
  4. How come Arafat is dead and no news stations are talking about it and everybody is keeping it under wraps? Good to see that you have his death listed, but why isn't any other info being released to the public? Weird

    Alistair Cooke

Things are looking hopeful for a long awaited first success of the year with today's sudden and unexpected announcement from Alistaire Cooke that he is to retire. I think the most promising aspects of this are firstly, that he has already retired and there will no no farewell Letter from America. The BBC and the highly egocentric Cooke would have insisted upon 15 minutes of reflection on 72 years at the sharp end of political journalism in the USA at the very least. And secondly, that he has retired at all. Cooke, though brilliant, has survived so long because he has a deep, insecure sense of self worth coupled with immense vanity and pride. When the new wave of modernisers came in when Cooke was in his 80s, he kicked up such an almighty public stink, they had to keep him on. So I think it must all mount to a sudden trauma on the health front.

    Shaw Taylor

Not based on any strong leads, apart from his date of birth: 26 October 1923 (81 this year). Memory jogged from watching an old public information film where a very dapper Shaw instructs 1950s citizens to "clunk-click", and after all, he should know, he was in the feel good business of giving "sound advice" at the time when seatbelts were just an upholstery upgrade, holding no life saving properties at all. Very hard to find any information on Shaw other than the IMDB and some crazy, and painfully slow, French sycophantic's website: http://shawtaylor.ifrance.com/shawtaylor/ - it might even be the official website. Perhaps we should we be keepin' 'em peeled?

    Dave Swarbrick (And Fairport Convention)

Always a good sign that your time is nearly up is winning a 'Lifetime Achievement Award'. Dave Swarbrick, former violinist with Fairport Convention, received one this week at the BBC Folk Awards. Unfortunately Dave was too ill to receive his award in person! Swarb, rather surprisingly, has already passed the famousness test, by having an obituary written in the Daily Telegraph a couple of years ago. (Oops). His poor health (mainly self-inflicted it has to be said) has included 2 tracheotomies in the last few years, and he is now confined to a wheelchair with oxygen mask (see also Marlon Brando). Keep an eye on him. DWB

    Marlon Brando

80 years old and in the Daily Mail today: in a wheelchair with some breathing apparatus and a plethora of life supporting medical devices beneath the chair. It looks like he might of even had a tracheotomy, but I didn't see the picture for long enough. No doubt DWB can advise further on this, as he is a reader of this paper Recent scares: In 2001 he had to pull out of "Scary Movie 2" owing to ill health (pneumonia).

    Jerry Lewis

I saw a picture of the rubber faced comedian (77) earlier in the week, and boy does he look in a bad way! Just released from hospital, after ballooning to 110Kg from an adverse reaction to SPAM, which he was taking to treat pulmonary fibrosis... A quick background check shows he's been declining in health over the last few of years, suffering from viral meningitis, diabetes, chronic back pain, addiction to painkillers, a heart attack and prostate cancer. If he can keep this performance going for the rest of the year, I think he's a good candidate for the 2005 list.

    Elizabeth Taylor

Im currently compiling a list of 5 celebs to enter into my Boyfriends Death Lottery and Elizabeth Taylor was a top pick. However, she is not mentioned on this site. I cant believe she isnt close to croking so have I missed something? Is she dead already?

    Hosni Mubarak

Must be a bad week for African quasi dictators with an M, u, a and b in their names, as Hosni Mubarak is apparently ill enough to be raising speculation over who might succeed him. Could be one to bear in mind for next year......

    Stephen Hawking

I thought at first the abuse, suggested in the papers, his wife was dishing out on the poor old professor might lead to his downfall, but I am now of the opinion that he will now be more carefully watched by his army of helpers . . . but you never know! DWB

    Words And Deedes

sorry to have to report, but W. F. Deedes was pictured on the front page of Saturday's Torygraph somewhere in Africa where he'd been sent on assignment. And, although there was a cheetah in the photo with him, alas its jaws were not wrapped around the old boy's throat like wot happened to Roy out of Sigfriend and Roy.

What is it with celebrities that choose to withhold information regarding their health? He has withheld the fact that he has cancer for the last 3 years. According to yesterday's News of the World, his days are nubmered. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/story_page.../showbiz5.shtml

Could he be the first death this year, after news today that he has suffered a major heart attack? Report in today's London Evening Standard states from his friend that he is desperately ill. Prison sources state that Biggs is "stable" Will he, won't he?

    Glyn Worsnip - Photo Update

At last after all these desperate years of searching, I've finally found a picture of Glyn Worsnip. Glyn left the planet in 1996, headed for Cerebellar Ataxia armed with the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy and a sweater wearing companion by the name of Doc Cox. Indeed, even Patrick Moore thought Cerebellar Ataxia was a rare constellation when he was approached and secretly filmed for a episode of the notorious Brasseye series, that to date has never been shown on british television. Channel 4 hold the episodes fate in their hands. Thats Life. Don't panic! Publicity photograph: Worsnip & 'Doc' Cox, Interstellar shenanigans; The search for Cerebellar Ataxia, 1996. Reminding us that universal hitch-hiking is not safe and can be dangerous.

    Ronald Reagan

Email just received at DeathList HQ: PWB says: "Strongly disagree with the designation of "idiot" for one of the greatest Presidents of the United States." Sadly PWB doesnt suggest an alternative description, but we're open to suggestions. Obviously Ronnie did make some great contributions in his time - for instance where would we be today without the "Star Wars" project?? Everyone still happy with "idiot" or is it time for a change?

Would there be a call to put Saddam on the list for next year? He may be executed for his past actions?
