Roy Hattersley

Roy Hattersley (wiki), Deputy Labour Party Leader (1983–1992) strikes me as someone who deserves his own topic.

He turns 90 next month, which is hard to believe given that he's been obese his entire life.

Clip of him from 8 months ago:

Looks ok, still mentally sharp. May not bother us for another 5 years, or could drop dead tomorrow given age vs. size.

A DDP for years.. picked by 10 teams in 2022.

Looks and sounds better there than he did during the last election, where he struggled to speak. (That is 2022 footage, right?)

As far as I can tell, yes.

Still writing for his favourite paper in October.

While David Owen will likely be the last survivor of Callaghan’s cabinet it suspect be tight between the other three as to what order they go.

Can’t look at him without thinking of his Spitting image puppet.
