Neol Edmunds 78 Posted January 5 Which was why I got together with my wife on 11.11.11, engaged on 12.12.12 and then 2013 buggered up my sequence...
msc 18,476 Posted January 5 Great idea, only I've gone to the date me and mrs msc hooked up and the only notable deaths are some Governor of Massachusetts and a general manager for some baseball team. That's no help!
The Old Crem 3,606 Posted January 5 I have a relative who can only remember the year his adult daughter was born based on Elvis’s death occurring a few weeks later. Elvis’s dearh is also how my mum remembers another relatives birthday as it happened the day before that relatives birthday that year. I can remember the last time I hooked up with someone based on what football match was playing at that time. 1
DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted January 5 Without going into sordid detail, I'll always remember what I was doing at exactly the same time Nelson Mandela was released from prison 1

Supplementary question- why's it so important to remember (no, I've never been described as a great romantic)? Surely your wedding anniversary is the important one. *Or she

Was it memorable for the scoreline or the teams playing? Was it St Lucia vs San Marino? If so, I claim my five pounds.
TQR 14,399 Posted January 5 OH and I got engaged the day Pope Benedict died. He is a lapsed catholic. Was like one final two fingers to the old bastard.

The BBC did a live broadcast of The Quatermass Experiment with modern actors in 2005. David Tennant was in it right before he became mega famous. And because it was live all errors were broadcast to the world. Which is why the BBC announcement that Pope John Paul II died always comes to mind as showing up on screen the exact moment David Tennant tripped and fell on his arse on live TV. Well it was my team coming back from behind to win against a team higher in the table.
