I don't want to have to do this to myself, but I'm also no cheat. I make my score 1093 points, 365 each from Walker and Rüütel, then 363 from Keleti.

Sorted, either my calculator's possessed or I hit the wrong button, apologies

And another in our series of daily Deathlist dishes

This hot talent is Amelita Ramos, latterly (29 Dec) she's been lapping up a slice of birthday cake, her 98th to be accurate. Q/o hopes here are realistic given the low-hanging nature of the Deathrace, the Phillippino media operating quite a few English language news sources and generally marking the demise of their first ladies as and when. Granted, our lassie ceased being first lady in 1998, so her continued hold on life has escaped all but one of the current Deathrace entrants. Therefore, I thought I'd share the love a little here and keep this thread lively until we cash in a winner, soonish if the current form of our leaders is anything to go by.

Oh aye, and...a new feature we'll briefly enjoy until victory is rapidly sealed. Looking at the tonnage of (381) names on the masterlist it might be useful to introduce a few of the - ahem - cult heroes, starting with...Jytte Abildstrøm

Danish dame of stage and screen, known to, well...Danes mainly from such unforgettable crowd pleasers as Svend, Knud og Valdemar (1970) and Askepot (1973) and known to her social services as someone already in their nineties. Wikipedia says her "active" years stretch from 1956 to "present" though it offers no evidence of any production since 2012. Maybe the clamour for selfies with her has blocked her route to auditions for the last twelve years, who knows?  Oh, and her son is an actor who appeared in Borgen.

Sadly, she's dead now, but needs something obitable.

Cheers, Wiki currently has him dead "around" 2 January, so we'll presume 363 points until advised otherwise

Close of play 2 Jan - Drol could be sitting on an additional 363 points if any half-reputable English language news source sees fit to mark the passing of Jytte Abildstrøm. On current form I can't see this competition outstaying its welcome!

And, let's have a look at the old scoreboard!

Summer in Transylvania - 1093

Drol - 1091

An Fear Beag - 728

Book - 728

RadGuy - 728

Bibliogryphon - 726

Hold the post, so this source is in Danish but has a clickable English option: https://underholdning.tv2.dk/kendte/2025-01-02-jytte-abildstroem-er-doed

Drol - 1454

Summer in Transylvania - 1093

@maryportfuncity - I see your pick, child murderer Urfan Sharif, is in a bad way after having his throat slashed with a tuna tin lid yesterday.

Aye, what I don't see is how many other people might be fancying him across a few dead pools, he's in my DDP line up as well, I'm thinking it a reasonable punt on someone in his 40s with a chance of a bonus by way of death. Only count when they count, mind, I had Trump on this year's DDP. If that shooter had thought less like a video game and more like a proper sniper and gone for the boiler plate shot into his large torso...the world would be a different place now.

Deadpooling dish of the day

Zoya Boguslavskaya - centernarian Russian poet, essayist, playwright, novelist and, erm...critic. A useful guess being that she only lasted to 100 where she lives by ensuring the criticism was directed at the work of other writers and not those in power since the second world war. Either way, @MalePoster has heard of her and reckons her worth a wager in his dead pooling team hereabouts. Like me, he's currently a whopping 1454 off the lead, so the sudden demise of today's dead pooling dish would be welcome.
