Across the Texas border is Loving County, TX, which was the least populated county in the USA (83 population). Now there’s 1000 thanks to oil boom. They built a post office and a couple petrol stations. Anyway, it’s named after Oliver Loving of the Goodnight-Loving (can’t make that shit up) cattle trail of the old Wild West. They drove cattle along the Pecos River and up to Colorado. Having spent time here in the mesquite desert that this area provides, that was no task for the timid.
