It was suicide or an accidental death in my opinion.

 

Accidental in the sense that the pills made her drowsie and forget how much she had already taken whilst she continued to take more.

Either that or she killed herself by swallowing them all at once.

Yes, particularly a pesky half-pissed one, driving a Merc at (literally) breakneck speed through a tunnel. And the work of those other silly humans who believe seat belts are optional if you're rich.

The "higher being" (You are obviously referring to His Noodly Magnificence) could have saved her, by bending time, changing the laws of physics, or through some other wondrous act, but in His wisdom, He chose to let her bounce around in the back like a fat taxi driver.
