Cadaver Shortage

Recommended Posts

It says here that there's a shortage of cadavers for medical students to practise on. Would any DL members be prepared to donate theirs? (Either now or later)

Could one donate by proxy? If so there are a few names I wish to nominate. T Bliar, G Twunt-Brown, A Darling etc.

I would easily volunteer, but only if I got to be cut up on TV. :D

I'm sure that could be arranged. :)

Yes, I'd be up for donating my body to "medical science". I'm sure some badly hung-over, disinterested med student would gain great mirth from articulating my fingers/toes via the tendons, playing hide-the-lecturer's-pen in my rectum, or placing me in a "69" with another cadaver. :D

No: Bloke Flu.

You know, the kind of thing that'd have women and children hospitalised and bed-ridden for days on end. But blokes can handle it.

In fact, the only concession we give to this kind of otherwise debilitating sickness, is an afternoon on the couch watching telly instead of being at work. Come opening time, we usually feel much better and pop out to replenish our depleted fluid reserves. It usually takes a good couple of hours to get them fully stocked.

That's bloke flu.

So this bloke says to the doctor; 'I think I've got bird flu.'

'What are your symptoms?' asks the doc.

'Well,' says the bloke, 'I keep talking shite and I can't park the car.'

Well, I'll happily donate part of my body.

But I can't decide which part. :D

Although I would consider leaving my corpse to medical research.

The thought of medical students poking around at me when I'm dead is slightly arousing,

I'll surrender my organs (though I doubt anyone would want ANY of them quite frankly, since the only healthy one now is my liver, and I've been working on that one for a while now...), because I think that if I can help, I should.

After seeing "Aftermath" by Nacho Cerda though, and seeing some of that stuff, I think I'll give handing out my corpse a miss.
