Lobotomy It is a brain operation in which healthy brain tissue is intentionally mutilated or removed for the purpose of behavior control. I hope that helps. Old Joe Kennedy used his money, stature, and political strings to have this poor soul lobotomized, thinking it would help her. After he saw it was a failure, he had a choice of institutionalizing her or caring for her. Old Joe had the ability to have a full-time staff at the family home to care for her. He chose to get rid of her. It makes me so angry that Rosemary's family used her "mental incapacitation" to gain noteriety through Special Olympics. If they cared that much, why, oh why, did Rosemary have to endure that lonliness? The Kennedy clan, so they have proved, can do just about anything......why not love their first daughter? There's yer family values. May Old Joe Kennedy burn in hell for what he did to Rosemary. And I don't think much of Old Joe's surviving offspring who pretended that their sibling Rosemary did not exist until after the Old Man croaked and began his dirt nap!
