Callaghan was alright actually. But there are echoes of the current PM as well. We'd have had soft landing

to our industrail base and the crash which Thatcher precipitated. Same choice now I reckon...

On the day in question I was I believe, attending a matinee performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Gondoliers" in Brighton with my cousin Reginald.

John Tyler, the 10th President of the USA died on this day in 1862.

Triva: Tyler married twice, fathering fifteen children and some of his offspring were only infants when he died, aged 72. His thirteenth child Lyon Gardiner Tyler also fathered children when in his seventies, two of whom are still alive. There are no deceased Presidents, Prime Ministers or Heads of State of any country who died earlier than John Tyler that have surviving grandchildren.

Is this where I insert that my great great great grandfather fathered his 28th child in 1912 aged 71?...he died 3 years later.

I know of 70 grandchildren so far - still looking.
