Vaagheid 141 Posted August 31, 2010 Edited the dead of Fignon in my signature. I stopped using the NDP-blog, so you don't have to check there for changes. I am thinking of making the rules of the NDP simpler for next year.

Everybody can send me their 10 picks till January the 10th (throught a personal message on this or the Dutch forum). It will run from January 11th 2011 till January 10th 2012. Your picks dead must be mentioned by only one newssource NOS teletext (<--- clickable link) Because I have a NOS TELETEXT app on my mobile phone and can easily check it that way. 1 spot = 100 points 2 spot = 90 points 3 spot = 80 points 4 spot = 70 points 5 spot = 60 points 6 spot = 50 points 7 spot = 40 points 8 spot = 30 points 9 spot = 20 points 10 spot = 10 points 100+ or 18- year old = only 10 points unique pick = +5 points Dutch/Belgian/Suriname/Luxembourg/Former Antilles pick = +20 points I had to simplify the rules because else I would have the same problems with my dyscalculia (which made this years NLDP very hard for me). I would apriciate it if other people helped me with keeping track of the deads. I just finished the final score before my P.C. went nuts (and destroyed the document). I believe the top 3 was 1. Tomb Raider 2. Rotten Ali 3. The Unknown Man

Edit: I decided to enter my own team (seeing that I wasn't in time to post a team in any other dead pool this year). My team will be: 1. Tanja Nijmeijer 2. Aretha Franklin 3. Cas Spijkers 4. Bart Chabot 5. Piet De Jong 6. Frans Tutuhatunewa 7. Jaap Blokker 8. Michael Douglas 9. Harlan Ellison 10. Johan Heesters
maryportfuncity 10,662 Posted January 1, 2011 Using the highly scientific method of packing the team with those who narrowly missed out on DDP action for me and blending them with names I've seen on this thread that just looked well...very Dutch in most cases, I have concocted Carkers Convention (Netherlands) 2011 Gerry Rafferty Corry Brokken Sylvia Kristel Erwin Olaf Willem Holleeder Kirk Douglas Aad van Toor Joran van der Sloot Heinrich Boere Billy Graham Subs bench Johannes Heesters
Rotten Ali 600 Posted January 2, 2011 Wow Maryport - I like your style in nicking the top of my list - I don't mind at all - but with the new points system Vaagy is going to run with (only +20pts for a Dutch death) I could only think of using my best two Dutch picks in 9th and 10th positions since the payback returns are somewhat denueded above these positions. Last year was quite rewarding in having only 3 hits from 25 names but with the double points bonus getting effectively 6 hits from the 25 took me to 2nd place overall. For me its a complete re-jig of the entry list. I'll be back in a bit... When I've re-run all the numbers...
Rotten Ali 600 Posted January 2, 2011 My new team is as follows... 100 Jose Alencar 90 Gerry Rafferty 80 Zsa Zsa Gabor 70 Aretha Franklin 60 Christopher Hitchens 50 Ariel Sharon 40 Yitzhak Shamir 30 James Garner 20 Stephen Hawking 10 Cornelis Geurtz (oldest Dutchman) Respectfully wish to change my Dutchman (I could only find room for one person in the end) if someone else wants him. You should. He's been dead for months. I don't know how good your computer translate program is. But here is some research our forummembers did the last couple of months. I used it myself when I comprised my list.
Rotten Ali 600 Posted January 2, 2011 Just checked myself (just in case) and found it thus. Respectfully coming in will be Cornelis Geurtz. Post above ammended.

Granted, there is a lot of overlap but they're in a different order. to be totally honest I Googled a couple before thinking 'fuck it' and just going for names I liked in any old order. This is the least thought through, most random team I've deadpooled in about four years. I couldn't even tell you who some of them are. I didn't even bother to check if anyone in Holland knows much about Gerry Rafferty, but I guess we'll soon find out if he's qualified for NDP points. There is summat to be said for just going for it. I spent a lot less time on the normal CPDP line up who broke the points record last year than I did on the carefully crafted theme team ten who stubbornly refused to cark.
