Windsor 2,233 Posted August 19, 2010 Washington Post still the most reputable re Esteban Steve Jordan, c'mon Independent, NY Times and the rest of you. The man was a legend, or summat. I'll get some points for Edwin Morgan, which will cheer me up after the Esteban Jordan obit failure.
maryportfuncity 10,630 Posted August 19, 2010 Aye, Esteban is a pisser. Bit random that Washington Post made a meal of it and NY Times made nothing, if you look back on the thread it was only a suggestion in a post that added NY Times to the hit list of qualifying write ups. He's certainly got a reputable US write up, just the wrong one for us. Played with Morgan though Windsor, I avoid writers as a rule because the stubborn bastards have a stickability that sucks in the world of dead pooling. I think we should add them to the list. Looks like I'll have to head off to Legacy.com to bribe the site manager with some sexy pictures...
Estuarian Float 97 Posted August 19, 2010 Alright.. Windsor, youve now got 165 points. Thats 103 points ahead of 2nd place runner, CarolAnn. But, I was pretty sure Edwin Morgan wasnt a unique pick. I even had him listed as a non-unique pick. But I looked through the roster thoroughly and couldnt find a second Edwin Morgan. So, whatever then. I also have stopped using the fancy scoreboards because they take too much time to paste together on Paint.

Estuarian Float 97 Posted September 7, 2010 So... still waiting on Esteban and Corneille obits.
Estuarian Float 97 Posted September 10, 2010 Corneille gets an obituary from the New York Times, which puts Vaagheid on the board. Still no Esteban.
Windsor 2,233 Posted October 28, 2010 New York Times obit for Sheik Saqr al-Qasimi. It says he was 90, but most sources say he was 92. Edit: Do I still get the five bonus points for him being 'incumbent', or did we rule Royalty out of this bonus category?
Estuarian Float 97 Posted October 29, 2010 I think I will include royalty. And by the way, if there are any deaths I've missed, I'll still go through the roster and check each of the unmarked ones at the end of the year to be sure.

Estuarian Float 97 Posted December 23, 2010 Esteban had a Legacy.com page but it expired. http://memorialwebsites.legacy.com/ESTEBAN...N/Homepage.aspx I only accept featured obits on the front page of the site. That personal little webpage mustve been something else. If Jordan got a featured obit from Legacy, his name would be on this list.
