Oban times?

Link please Paul.

Lochaber times.  It's just a photo of the back page with the story about the chairman wanting to bring stability to the club.

Just googled it. Seems we're both correct. Oban times incorporating Lochaber times.

Hmm

So, just local stuff. I was only asking because one of the best football books I've ever read is Pointless by Jeff Connor - basically a participant observation of a season in the life of East Stirlingshire FC and their quest to finish above bottom of the entire league. The point is that he gets inside it and does what I suggested in the post above - actually explains why anyone would want to manage/support/own/play for them.

Back in the summer we were asked by an independant film maker if they could shoot a behind the scenes short film on Fort William F.C.

We would like to offer a massive thank you to James and Jakob , who voluntarily created "A Long Way To Winning" as a passion project  which beautifully encapsulates what we are trying to achieve both on and off the pitch and highlights some of the struggles we face.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone connected and involved with Fort William F.C and dedicate this to our fans worldwide for your continued support and following

It may be a long way to winning, but it is not one that will defeat us.

"A Long Way To Winning"

Fort William FC didn’t win a single game last season. The club chairman and board members gave the team the option to drop down a league. The players overwhelmingly refused. This is a story about legacy and pressure. Holding onto something long enough to see it form into something for the next generation.

Director: James Baines
DOP: Jakob Cizic
Editor: Matt Kitchin
Music: Blue Sky Black Death

With special thanks to Mikey, Scott, Woody, Albert and all those at Fort William who made us feel welcome. This is for you.

I'll see what I can do to d/l the film. I'm not having too much success so far.  It lasts about 6 minutes.

They've got a 'go fund me' page now.......

As Fort William F.C and our story "A Long Way to Wining" continues to ripple through social media , we cannot thank you for the incredible and loving support we have received over the last 24 hours for our club and community from all over the world

We have been inundated with messages of support , donations , merchandise requests , collaborations and the response from people who are offering a way of helping is beyond measure.

We are always in vital need of funding to compete in the Highland League , we are not a money club and it means nothing to us as players and a community. The harsh reality is this is year 1 of a new era for Fort William F.C. (Official) and we are building all over from scratch again.

Our top and most pressing concern at the moment is our priority is our pitch and we have set a target of £10000 to aim to provide the vital equipment and  expensive maintenance to avoid Claggan Park becoming flooded during the harsh Fort William climate leading to fixture pile-ups and training cancellations.

A solid playing and training area is vital to the whole club from 1st team to youths and will provide the foundations for which we can build.

Once again thank you for sharing our story and your continued support of Fort William Football Club

If you would like to help with a donation it would go a long way to increasing our chances of remaining alive as a football club and more so competing consistently in the Highland League.

The club is always open to potential investment and business opportunities and if you can help in any way please get in touch or you can make a donation below.......

Four down in the first 22 minutes. He just could be right.  Mind you, he might be taking a week off if it goes into double figures.
