Shel Talmy, producer for The Kinks up to Something Else and much of The Who's early work, dead at 87. He did a lot of cool stuff on those early Kinks records

Talking’ bout d-d-decomposition. The early Who singles were meaty, beaty, big and properly bouncy, thanks to Shel. It says on his page that he has lots of unreleased mid 60s Bowie stuff from his mod phase, I wonder if they’ll ever see the light of day. The Lower Third single on Nuggets is pretty ok.

That was very weak.

Obscure to the point of invisibility as I am, at least I know that ObakeFilter will obit me with a minuscule FB report. Preferably in Songwriters, but here will do.

But will anybody read it?

Lol, they did some really nasty music 15 years ago and their only album is quite insane.

I am also a big fan of the band that posted this eulogy, which imo have created one of the funniest album covers of all time.

About the same number that ever listened to the records, I expect.

Are they on Youtube or the like? I'll have a listen.

I think we’re talking at cross purposes here. I’m sure at least 57 more people have listened to the Angry Admirals than ‘Arry and the Army’.

Thinking about it, can you please put my obituary in the Deathlist Co-founders thread. Ta.
