Slave to the Grave 26 Posted November 24, 2004 Check this chap out, looks a bit peaky. Not sure he passes the famousness test - yet but perhaps he's worth watching. If the pic doesn't work, try: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/default.stm
Grim Reaper 186 Posted November 24, 2004 Interesting shout - think he does now pass the famousness test... Out of interest Slave, are you predicting death by natural causes (looks possible) or a simple mysteriously-disappearing-on-one-of-those-cold-nights-in-Kiev type death ? Slave to the Grave 26 Posted November 25, 2004 Out of interest Slave, are you predicting death by natural causes (looks possible) or a simple mysteriously-disappearing-on-one-of-those-cold-nights-in-Kiev type death ? Upon reflection, I rather think the latter.
The Four Horsemen 26 Posted November 25, 2004 Apparently the election campaign in the Ukraine explained his appearance as the result of a bad meal of sushi.......maybe they just meant there was something fishy going on?
Rude Kid 3 Posted November 25, 2004 A bit peaky, you say? Jesus, that bloke wouldn't look out of place among the winos down my local shopping precinct. If that's what one bad plate of sushi does to you, I'm going veggie.
Stayin Alive 26 Posted November 25, 2004 Looks like a mutant cross between John Hurt and Alan Rickman, in typical badie guise, a la Die Harder. Either that or a case of an undiganoised streptococcal disease. Come on, you've got to face up to the fact it might be that.
Tuber Mirum 126 Posted November 25, 2004 Some experts think it is deliberate dioxin poisoning. Or a stress-related disorder. Check out the before and after pics on this page: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4041321.stm

Stayin Alive 26 Posted November 26, 2004 The Russian equivalent of our Chequers I guess. Better keep an eye on Prescott and Howard then, if they ever stay there.
Slave to the Grave 26 Posted November 26, 2004 Is that really the same man in the before and after pics? If so perhaps he's just suffering from a really bad post-nose job infection. Alternatively, perhaps he's resorted to Saddam's method of foiling would-be assassins by using looky likeys (perhaps all the good ones chickened out). football_fan 42 Posted November 26, 2004 It looks like an extreme case of an allergic reaction. I know quite a few people who are unable to eat seafood. Maybe he is allergic to sushi after all.

mattd007 1 Posted November 30, 2004 the thing about allergic reactions is that that go away, they dont stay as long as this guy has had it
Tuber Mirum 126 Posted December 10, 2004 http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-1393172,00.html Looks like it was poison. No evidence of it having been a potentially lethal dose, but I suppose whoever it was may try again, so an early departure may be on the cards for Viktor. A highly speculative possible makeweight then for next year if numbers are short.
football_fan 42 Posted December 11, 2004 I suppose whoever it was may try again, so an early departure may be on the cards for Viktor. He is certainly one to keep an eye on for 2005. Especially if he wins the re-scheduled elections.

Tuber Mirum 126 Posted December 27, 2004 I was in the Ukraine in March and can vouch for the dismal state of the buses there as this snapshot shows. BTW: a word of advice to anyone planning a trip to Kiev: When there, don't have as much to drink as I did.
