maryportfuncity 10,684 Posted October 6, 2014 What's on MR SF tonight? Five pints of best Marston's Pedigree means I'm unable to look it up! Why, thanks for asking CoF. Big album is the newie by Soft Walls (sound a lot like Spiritualized - so we'll play some Spiritualised too), we're also playing a sizeable chunk of a new album by a bloke called Robert Reed that is an uncanny ringer for a 2014 remake of Tubular Bells. Other delights include a track from the new(ish) album by Spoon, a paint-peeler from Neil Sedaka's album for kids and a jaw dropper to start us off called "Rockin' with the Sikh" by Peter Singh (the Panjabi Elvis). All on from 10-midnight http://www.miskinradio.co.uk Next week The Ethel Merman Disco Album. Wow! I had forgotten that exists. In the very early 1980s I was a roller-skating barman in a very camp "fun-pub" nightclub and one of the DJs would play a track at the end of the night to help clear the place. Seriously fella, we WILL go there, and a few other disco abominations as well. I'll away and get a life before I bring D-R trolling down, but before splitting; I did manage to unearth a gem you won't find on Spotify or any of the apps/programmes that try to grow your listening habits in logical directions. David Steele - as in Liberal statesman - made an eighties funk stylee fundraising rap track (I SHIT YOU NOT PEOPLES), SF will share the love before we get to Ethel. Predictor 1,018 Posted October 31, 2014 DeathRay, there is no way a respectable British newspaper would publish an obituary for a pornogrind artist, or whatever you call it. So this is a POINTLESS thread. No offence...

No offence... "We gave our panel 100 seconds to name as many pornogrind artists as they could. Podium 1?" "Err...Candye Kane?" "Sorry" says Richard Osman, "That's not the type of thing we were thinking about."

So this is a POINTLESS thread. No offence... so the mail might in the right circumstances, no? "The right circumstances" might involve a spectacular death, linked to lifestyle, and a shock horror headline followed by a snippet of a story. All of which counts as the national newspaper "article" needed for DDP points. The Burzum/Mayhem black metal off a few years ago about who were the biggest Satanists got some UK press when lead singer of one band murdered his counterpart. Still think it a long shot that any pornogrind, goregrind or similar muso might net us some points next year.
charon 4,943 Posted October 19, 2015 Don't know if 'obituary' comes under this genre, but Frank Watkins is needing one, aged 47 http://loudwire.com/former-obituary-recent-gorgoroth-bassist-frank-watkins-dead-47/
