Predictor 1,018 Posted January 4, 2015 After two years, it was about time I lost my "startathreadginity" or summat. So, which pun was the best? PS, the poll doesn't show up when I click Preview Post, hope I'm doing it right.
msc 18,536 Posted January 4, 2015 Hail Caesar, though it wasn't a vintage year for them. (The best, all time, to abuse the parameters of the thread for a moment, remains the Patrick Swayze one for me.)
JR976evil 909 Posted January 4, 2015 Waned Rooney - and no, not an especially inspiring year pun-wise. It took over 6 months before we actually had any

No I never came into contact with her ovaries. Besides, talking about covering of faces in these times just sounds like something Islamy or something (no matter how unintentionally). Way off track. Tell us about that Chapman chap.

You've never noticed that they usually pull a sheet over the head of a person who has died? The reference is to one of PD's novels, "Cover Her Face", the title of which is a quotation from (I think) the Jacobean play "The Duchess Of Malfi": "Cover her face; mine eyes dazzle. She died young" (the latter phrase clearly being inappropriate to the nonagenarian PDJ.) Tell us about that Chapman chap/man. I'm afraid I wasn't personally acquainted with him. What did you want to know?

Nothing urgent really, fort you woz his friend or acquaintance cos it seemed like you were hinting you were or something, was gonna just ask you to amuse us with something vaguely interesting or whatever about him. I guess if you were, now you're being all evasive about it. Y'know, like a spycatcher's squeeze would be. Chuffin' eck. That had to be one of my top 5 favourite DL moments of 2014, when I suggested that he might meet his demise while overdoing it with the internet porn, about a week or fortnight before his actual death. I should get a medal for that kind of stuff.
