ImissMontpellier 73 Posted September 26, 2017 Spoiler Bonsoir, For at least four months, many French celebrities have died: actresses (Jeanne Moreau, Mireille Darc), politicians (Simone Veil), billionaires (Liliane Bettencourt, Pierre Bergé). I've some names who might kick the bucket in 2018 and are obitable: Jean-Louis Trintignant, in his 80's, told the press he has cancer. Very likely to have an UK obit as he starred in Palme d'or winner Amour and won a Cesar award. Bernard Tapie is a French businessman and politician. He is said to have a cancer. He was the president of Olympique de Marseille football Club which won the Champions league. He has many legal difficulties such as Credit Lyonnais bank case. He is very famous in France. 1

I've asked the question before... the same goes for flemish belgian politicians, whose native language is dutch but who speak also french (Belgium being a half-french speaking country). Must french be the native language or not, then ?

Not posting so much these days as I am busy with work but I couldn't resist having a go at the French game. Mind you, I have about as much chance of winning this game as "my" Amiens SC has of winning Ligue 1... I am still keeping an eye on my entries in Windy City and the George V pools, too, by the way. Davey Jones' Locker 1,324 Posted January 7, 2018 RIP. I feel sorry for her over the "Les Sucettes" incident. To quote from the English language Wikipedia: Gall said that she had sung Gainsbourg's songs "with an innocence of which I'm proud. I was pained to then learn that he had turned the situation to his advantage, mocking me." In a 2001 television interview, Gall said that she felt "betrayed by the adults around me." Anyway, here is an English language obit: http://www.dw.com/en/french-singer-france-gall-dies-aged-70/a-42055061
