Joey Russ 7,229 Posted July 25, 2018 The legend that is George Clinton turned 77 two days ago. It was reported that he was retiring from touring in 2019, but even if that didn’t happen, I felt it was time to give the greatest living funk musician his own thread. Sir Creep 7,070 Posted January 3, 2019 It’s a sad fucking day. Funk superstar William “Bootsy” Collins has been funking on stage for 50 years, but now his days of performing on bass seem to be over. The former Parliament-Funkadelic bassist posted on his Facebook page that he will no longer be playing the bass live due to health issues. SC
Sir Creep 7,070 Posted January 3, 2019 ^^^^ THAT is exactly why I went out of my way to see George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic last week. SC
msc 18,480 Posted September 18, 2020 NOT DEAD. Lots of fans on here, so here's a link to the live interview the 79 year old George Clinton did yesterday. Starts about 25 mins in. Well enough to chat about music for about an hour, seems in good spirits. Also well enough to join in BLM protests last month:
