It’s not a farce at all. The same rule carries in just about every single deadpool.

There’s a small chance players could pick up on news of a death elsewhere, including on social media or forums, even though it still hasn’t been reported on more widely.

That rule has to apply across the board. If you wanted the points, should’ve entered earlier.

This is objectively bollocks.

Lots of deadpools on this site have a 'widely believed to be alive' clause that allows a score in this situation. Deathrace to start with , Hares to add to that, MMDP, and many many others.l

Remember, there’s a reason why many folk didn’t get points for Sam Lloyd in the current competition of Windy City...

Yes because we all look at the twitters of randomers to see if a 107 year old is still alive. This is entirely preposterous to deny me points because some nobody who meant him when he was 105 knew he was dead...... utterly insanity. #Justiceformiraclealigner #thurlowdeservespoints

I was unsure, whether these five people are famous enough to get picked:

1.    Kawashima, Ryokichi (*1918), Japanese pensionist, who ran for parliament in 2012

5.    McLaurin, Virginia (1909-2022), anti-racism activist, who visited president Obama in 2016

6.    Monier, Paulette (1917-2019), WWIII-surviver, who mixed up A. Merkel with Emmanuel Macron’s wife

7.    Onorio, Rota (1919-2004), former  Chairman of the Council of State and Speaker of the House of Assembly of Kiribati

8.    Philipose Mar Chrysostom (Mar Thoma XX) Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan (1918-2021), bishop

9.    Ramsauer, Emil (1918-2021), Austrian musician, oldest participant of the Eurovision Contest (2013)

10. Schwägermann, Günther (1915-19??), former Nazi commander, now war criminal

11. Topić-Mersmann, Wiltrud (1919-2022), art historian

12. von Hase, Karl-Günther (1917-2021), German officer and diplomat

13. Wirth, Marie-Louise (1917-2022), still active bartender in Southern France

14. Yxemerry, Ambroise (1917-2013), French Polynesian writer

15. zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, Marianne (*1919), royal and photographer

Subs:

Rota Onorio, Bill Graham and Gunther Schwagermann are almost certainly deceased. They’re just missing dates of death on Wiki.

There all valid, but the reality is some of them are probably dead, therefore won't score.

In fact, I have neither any evidence that the lady is still alive nor that she is dead, sorry.

This makes her nomination maybe obscure, but not more valid than others, who could be dead.

Would you recommend to replace her instead?

And just to be inquisitive:

Would the first five habe been ok as well?

1.    Kawashima, Ryokichi (*1918), Japanese pensionist, who ran for parliament in 2012

2.    Ovitz, Shoshana (*1915), Holocaust survivor, who celebrated her birthday with 400 descendants

3.    Ras, Cornelia (*1913), Dutch COVID-19-survivor

4.    Vázquez, Lulú (*1910), Spanish survivor of Spanish Flew and COVID-19

5.    Zúñiga, Juana (*1909), Chilean COVID-19-survivor

Maybe for someone who needs inspiration?

And maybe the bravest pick for 2020:

Richard Nimmerrichter, 1920, December 31, Austrian journalist for the Eurosceptic "Kronen Zeitung", Austria's largest newspaper

If he scores, it's on his birthday AND the year is over.
