It seems like Nigel Taylor has finally died: https://www.wellington-today.co.uk/news/death-of-former-council-chairman-552277

According to this, Nigel Taylor has finally died. https://www.wellington-today.co.uk/news/death-of-former-council-chairman-552277

Congrats, @gcreptile and good luck with the next round(s)! It was an honour to get a chance to compete against you. Last year I didn't get further than the second round, so I am happy with getting this far.
-
Fuck, I almost forgot and my top picks are of course gone. Nigel Taylor
-
You're still in the lead and I don't really believe in my chances at winning at this point. Though, of course there is still a question whether Deborah James survives till next month or not.
-
I'm going to enjoy the lead against @gcreptile as long as it lasts (probably not for long)
-
Yeah I agree, I was expecting our teams to do better, but it's hard to know in advance. Thank you, good luck is much needed! I don't really have my hopes up for May since I would need to bring my A-game to have any kind of chance and I have had only two hits after the first round. So probably this will be my last round in this year's cup, but I'm okay with that
-
I just sent my team although @TQR still has a chance of getting a last minute hit and beating me. Thanks for this round either way!
-
I had her in the last two teams, but this time I dropped her. I should learn to be more patient
-
Thanks for running this! My team: 1. George Pérez 2. Kane Tanaka (died before the pool starting) 3. Jimmy Carter 4. Susie Steiner 5. Clare Marx 6. Vicky Phelan 7. Frank Field 8. Bob Barker 9. Jean-Louis Trintignant 10. Bernadette Chirac 11. Rob Burrow 12. Pelé 13. Nigel Starmer-Smith 14. Françoise Hardy 15. Peter Tobin 16. Bernadette Mayer 17. Leslie Phillips 18. Mikhail Gorbachev 19. Sacheen Littlefeather 20. Martti Ahtisaari 21. Shannen Doherty subs. 1. Noam Chomsky (in the 21st position due to Tanaka's death in April) 2. Benedict XVI 3. Joanne Woodward
-
Jessica Hiatt has died. No cup points though for anyone of course, but she clearly had some chance of dying in April
-
@An Fear BeagI think everyone (at least me) dropped him after reading this piece of news, and then he died a couple of days later: https://www.nenroll-nenroll.com/news/leonel-sanchez-was-discharged-from-the-u-clinical-hospital/
-
So apparently my entire March team is now dying, dammit. I'm guessing tomorrow we'll hear news about Kane Tanaka's or Jean-Louis Trintignant's deaths. (Leonel Sanchez is dead, last month he was a popular pick, but this month no-one picked him.)
-
Yeah, I just heard that and I'm feeling pretty angry at the yesterday me who made a very stupid decision I had already started to regret. Congrats TQR for your first points!

I know I took a big risk with dropping McCall this round. I don't really even have a logical reason for that but had hard time with deciding last names last night and felt like choosing some new faces instead of old ones. This is my best performance in the cup regardless, so I'm happy either way. Not really looking forward to a possible match with last year's finalists next month...
