Trump may actually reverse this. He used to favour a ban. Now he’s changed his mind.

He wouldn’t get a reversal  through congress as many republicans still support it and I’m not sure it can be done any other way.

Supreme Court upholds Ban but Biden now seems to not want his final legacy to be banning itand Trump wants to overrule it but legally might only be able to delay it as getting the act replaced would be a challenge as majority of congress still backing a ban.

If it is actually shut down a suicide or two is likely.

There are a lot of people financially reliant on using the App.

Which may well be the case. However you have to translate that into the possibility of people committing suicide don't you?

Lots of people have financial ups and downs TOC always have always will probably - it doesn't mean they are about to top themselves. FSakes pal, stop being such a doom merchant.

I'm not on TikTok (because out of touch, not for any pro-ban reasons) but all the best YouTubers (IE the ones I watch) seem to be sponsored by VPNs, so I would assume those reliant on TikTok for work would find a get around quite quickly if not already?

TikTok itself is apparently full on with videos advertising VPN’s. Through I can’t imagine all users being able to do so. I have a middle aged relative who seems addicted to the app but I just can’t imagine her having a clue what a VPN is if a ban ever came in force in the UK.

I myself am quite bad with technology and have never tried using a VPN - I don’t like trying things I don’t know how to do for several reasons.

I don't have TikTok either, no interest in all that yoof stuff nor in what are termed 'influencers', so I'm also 'out of touch'. I do have a VPN  (though don't use it much) so I know what that is.

But unless I've got the wrong end of the stick here a vpn on the provider end won't solve the issue for UK providers if the market in the USA is removed entirely by the banning of TikTok there. To fix it you'd be relying on every one of your current 'viewers' aquiring and using a vpn not using one yourself that'd make no difference - and you'd still lose all the new subs/views that expands your business on an international platform. They'd only lose the US part of the income, but of course that's the issue it's a big market and probably the biggest if you're English speaking.

I also have zero idea how tiktok pays providers for content (presumably based on views and subs or the like similar to youtube) but does that model even work over VPN's? And even if it does how many of your stateside viewers are going to bother to get a vpn for a few short vids?
