One of the cardinal rules of deadpooling - never trust a hunger-striker.

Generally you just give them a week or two, wave a Bic Mac in front of their noses, and all their lofty principles melt away.

People also really underestimate how long it takes to starve to death. Bobby Sands was committed to the job, Thatchers lot happy to let it happen and it still took 66 days. Any glance at drols immortal thread should tell people the human body can sometimes be remarkably resilient.

Talking about drol's immortals and hunger strikers, Surat Singh Khalsa is both. 91 years old, on-off hunger strike for 10 years and at some points he's weighed only around 32kg (70lbs). The fact that he's still alive is my reminder not to pick those types.

Not singling anyone out in particular, but there are some real stupid picks this year. Folk who are very old, but not at imminent risk. Not surprised this pool has gone tits up.

There are lots of similarities to 2022 here, too. (Although main difference is that that year had much more cancer sufferers as picks) Roster has a lot of people who are ill, but have been for years. If it weren't for Bollettieri, that year's AVALDP would've dragged on past Christmas.

Right now there are 4 or 5 picks I see as potential winners but at this point I would be less suprised if it ended up being one of the centenarians.

I one time considered Nacho Rocha for my DDP Rolls Off The Tongue theme team due to his hunger strike but then thought better about it.

The specific period was bad, with no obvious hospitalised picks. Only Alvaro Noboa, I wanted to pick him but he was reportedly doing well.

Now there would be plenty on the brink of death: Advani, Thimmakka, Collares, Sotil, Vasudevan Nair... though all of them are improving ofc.

Quite bad luck for this pool.

Who, who, who, who, and who?

I must confess to skimming over your posts about third world provincial politicians so this just read as gobbledygook.

And a buon natale to you too, drol.

Nothing but coal for your moody, humourless Finnish friend though.

I'd love some coal for Christmas - can only get the smokeless stuff here now. I'd happily receive a bag of proper coal rather than the usual socks, jocks and chocs.
