Dr Hackenslash 25 Posted January 25, 2006 Give me a pint of Tennent's Velvet or a Buckfast any day. When Fred West met St Peter and was told he would be going to Hell, he was offered a final request. He replied "I could murder some Tennents..."
Tempus Fugit 214 Posted January 25, 2006 Single malt Jura, my how the other half lives. It was a chrimbo prezzie. Ah kinassureye, ahcouldnyaffordit. Well I can afford it all right, I just resent handing over all that tax to Gordo. Scottish whisky & NI whiskey should all be duty free, purely in the interests of boosting this world renowned industry's sales and securing jobs.

Buckfast - it grew on me when I was in Dunoon. Mainly because it was the only thing in stock. As for the distillery at Oban - how can a place force you to drink single malt at 9.15am. Not that I was moaning, mind. But anyway, you really should try Buckfast - once you start, you won't stop!

After your first half bottle, if you don't hear the voices, you could be classed as immune from the effects. It was Eldorado (a kind of Sherry) that was drunk in Clydebank by the 'jakies' 'neds' etc when I was 18, I'd never heard of Buckie until I was about 26, don't think I'll try it any time soon, I can hear voices HCW without Buckie . We have a good friend who works in a well paying job, very respectable e.t.c. but his normal weekend carryout is some cans of Tennents and a bottle of EL D. , he says he loves the taste
