Spade_Cooley 9,780 Posted December 1, 2024 Denise Welch pulls out of playing Captain Hook in Nottingham's Peter Pan pantomime due to ill health. Don't worry though, you will still be treated to Gok Wan as the Magical Merman, Paul Chuckle as Starkey and Steve Hewlett (presumably the Britain's Got Talent ventriloquist, rather than the DDP alum Independent journalist of the same name) as Smee.

Suicide is painless, but this crap isn't. I'd opt for the former.

The number of celebrity deaths from those who have participated in Big Brother seems extraordinarily high. I think I counted 21 so far, with James Whale and Julie Goodyear circling the drain too. Series 20 particularly fatal, with Sarah Harding, Derek Acorah and now Paul Danan gone.

Couple of other good contenders for next to go as well with Germaine Greer and Ron Atkinson now both 85 and Ken Morley 81.

Some were ancient or totally expected to fall. Jackie Stallone was 98 when she died. Ken Russell was 84 and morbidly obese. I do agree though that there has been a higher than usual death rate amongst the "younger" names e.g. Coolio, Verne Troyer, Paul Danan. That's because those people are off the wall. I think you need to be quite off the wall in the first place to even go on that show. Sarah Harding and Jade Goody were just tragic cancer deaths, but probably in line with the rate of probability.
