Paul Bearer 6,102 Posted March 1, 2006 As this is St David's day, and the Jocks had a turn with St Andrews day/ Burns nicht, it's only fair we should celebrate things Welsh. The only team to beat Scotland in the 6 nations rugby ............. so far
Godot 149 Posted March 1, 2006 Problem is the Taffs don't know their own language, except when you walk in to one of their pubs.

Boudicca 702 Posted March 1, 2006 I hadn't realised it was St. David's Day. I've been distracted by what I thought was a nasty bruise on my daughter's forehead which turned out to be ash. Serves me right for being a lapsed Catholic. Not sure how to talk like a Taff, or to type like one. Does it involve a lot of unnecessary vowels?
Tempus Fugit 214 Posted March 1, 2006 I have a couple of relatives that live in Wales, neither one of them is Welsh though. They both live in Pembrokeshire, or Little England as it is often called. I once had a holiday in Snowdonia, in a rented cottage halfway up a mountain and surrounded by sheep, very peaceful it was, and very wet.

Dont mention the leisure centres. Sorry sheep. What do you call a Welshman with a sheep under each arm? A pimp.

Those sheep around the cottage looked mean, wouldn't have wanted to mess with them In fact the only place of interest IMO was Portmeirion, where the TV show "The Prisoner" was filmed. It was only a few miles away, fascinating place, had a virtual micro climate due to its position, lots of interesting pathways around its gardens.
Windsor 2,233 Posted March 1, 2006 We used to have a Welsh cook at work, but then she retired. She was very big and very loud. So I now base my opinion of the Welsh on her. Is that racist? My Welsh impression is rather bad...
