Talk Like A Taff

Recommended Posts

As this is St David's day, and the Jocks had a turn with St Andrews day/ Burns nicht, it's only fair we should celebrate things Welsh. The only team to beat Scotland in the 6 nations rugby ............. so far

Problem is the Taffs don't know their own language, except when you walk in to one of their pubs.

I hadn't realised it was St. David's Day.

I've been distracted by what I thought was a nasty bruise on my daughter's forehead which turned out to be ash.

Serves me right for being a lapsed Catholic.

Not sure how to talk like a Taff, or to type like one. Does it involve a lot of unnecessary vowels?

I have a couple of relatives that live in Wales, neither one of them is Welsh though.

They both live in Pembrokeshire, or Little England as it is often called.

I once had a holiday in Snowdonia, in a rented cottage halfway up a mountain and surrounded by sheep,

very peaceful it was, and very wet.

I take it that our Welsh cousins also reciprocate annually with helping us to celebrate St Georges day.

Thought not.....................................

Depends what part of Wales you're in I suppose. I haven't seen anyone from England celebrating St Georges day, that day just seems to come and go almost unnoticed

A rented cottage? That was Mark Oatens excuse.

Dont mention the leisure centres.

Sorry sheep.

What do you call a Welshman with a sheep under each arm?

A pimp.

St. George he was a Palestinian wasn't he?

Bloody silly patron saint for England.

Those sheep around the cottage looked mean, wouldn't have wanted to mess with them :D

In fact the only place of interest IMO was Portmeirion, where the TV show "The Prisoner" was filmed. It was only a few miles away, fascinating place, had a virtual micro climate due to its position, lots of interesting pathways around its gardens.

We used to have a Welsh cook at work, but then she retired.

She was very big and very loud.

So I now base my opinion of the Welsh on her. Is that racist? :D

My Welsh impression is rather bad...
