Art Buchwald

Recommended Posts

Excellent. He was on my theme team in the CPDP and probably the only hit I'll get.

Congrats Handreijka ;)

Mixed feelings at MPFC Towers; I was getting to like the guy as I found out more and more, but points is points.

I'm a little bit miffed about Art Buchwald. He was on my long list and all the evidence was there in the thread but I just didn't give him enough weighting. Maybe Rotten Ali's system has something to recommend it after all.

Nah.

I recently joined a Ghoul Pool and the meeting was Wednesday, January 17th.

One of the rules is the midnight deadline.

I picked Art Buchwald - he evidently died Wednesday night and I need a way

to confirm the time of death. Any way of finding that info would be helpful

(web sites - etc.) - I figured this group would be the experts - thanks

It would depend on where you are located. The reports all say that he died late wednesday evening. which would make it the early hours of the morning in the UK.

This death watch thing is getting quite addictive - does this site offer therapy or should I just get out more?

Don't worry, you're not the only one who has suddenly developed an unhealthy interest in strangers deaths!!

Actually adding a reply helps

message from the grave... video worth watching.

I wonder why we can't see his actual video obit. "Hi I'm Art Buchwald and I just died." What a great last line.

This should link you to it. If not, enter "Buchwald" in the video search engine and you'll find it in four parts.

Late breaking news.....late breaking news.....

When I collected the mail one day a few days afore today I found an invitation in the mail from those kindly folks at NARSAD (a mental health research group). The Mission Impossible Awards Gala this year for the Wadington D.C. area is being held coincidentally a week from now more or less on February 28, 2007 at the Embassy of Canada on Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Well, here is the news....the invite had listed our friend Art Buchwald on the honorary committee (along with the likes of Luis Gutierrez and Jerrold Nadler). Being as how Art has depARTed his status has been changed and he willl now be honored posthumously by Mike Wallace (see the CBS thread for more on him) who will present the Wellstone Award to Art's son Joel and also to SPAM driver Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy.

Narsad awarded Buchwald many times while he was alive for his courage in openly discussing his matters of depression....or has he referred to it "The black pit of mental illness".

Congratulations Art on one more award even though you are gone you are still here.

More info can be found at the NARSAD website Narsad Washington
