i think it's safe to say that blair is safe for a long time yet, given the way this thread is going. if i had the time (or inclination) i'd do a little study into the correlation between how long the named person in the thread survives set against the level of argument and non-related posting in said thread.

would i get a grant for it?

and yes, this post counts as non-related!

Although presumably, given your mature new signature, if he's a murderer, sex attacker or child abuser you'll be quite prepared to forget about it and declare yourself an even lower form of life?

No. I'm not Lithuanian.

I didn't suggest you were, Marjorie and I guessed you weren't from the basic grasp of the English language that you have mastered.

I've never been to Lithuania, but I'm guessing their people are generally nice folk and a step up in the food chain from people who take great joy in boasting to the world that they are lower than rapists and sex abusers.

<_<

You misunderstand the context in which that statement was used. It emerged from your new friend in the Elizabeth Taylor thread and the adapted form from a moderator.

As for your ' light-hearted fun' you certainly have become one to pick and choose.

Not that nobody will have thought of it before, but desperate times, desperate measures and all that. <_<

In a side bar from the Tony Blair story we have:

No politician, ever, by act, word, or deed should give any support to the notion that violence might be justified

Sir Menzies Campbell

Lib Dem leader

All I can say is thank F**k the Mingster wasn't anywhere near power when Hitler's hordes headed for Poland.

A couple of nights ago I dreamt that Tony Blair died suddenly whilst in office.

It was rather odd because I was shocked that he died like that, being a fitness freak inall. Anyway there was an emergency meeting at 10 Downing Street and thats all I can remember. Except for the fact that this was 'Breaking News' on Sky news.

How exciting. I'm even watching TV in my dreams...

I concur Sir. Getting quoted out of context and being photographed with Castro, in the same week, are pretty desperate.

I have a hunch his life is reasonably safe but in terms of political death.......what do we think?

I reckon he'll be well gone by Christmas, whatever he says tomorrow.

Evening Standard says so, so it must be true. I don't think Tony's too bad, but his time is up.

If I was the PM I'd say F**k off to those seven nobodies who resigned, none of whom would probably have been elected but for the modernisation of the Labour Party, largely brought about by Blair in the first place. Ungrateful worms. Either way though he can't lose. He could dig his heels in and drag it out another couple of years just to wind up Gordon Brown even more, or leave and go make millions on the US lecture circuit. I'd take the cash.

If Gordo had any balls he would have finished Blair off over a year ago, but as he's such a wimp Gordo has blown it, I think his stint as PM (if it happens at all) will be short lived.

Oh Ronnie, I'm disappointed. What about service to Queen and country, Noblesse Oblige and all that? Taking the cash is so vulgar.

Mind you, the sooner the C**t goes the better.

The only reason he is staying on is he wants to have 10 years under his belt before going.

So he'll stick around until May.

Unless he's pushed, which is what I'm hoping for.

Blair is rumoured to be pitched to leave around May time, but isn't the general election around then as well? How can labour expect to garner any votes when they don't even know who their party leader is. :P

No, I think the Labour party is finished with, New Labour barely represents the socialist ideals it once did as 'old' Labour. No, Socialism is fairly unrepresented in todays UK politics. The Tories don't seem trustworthy, Cameron is making loads of nice-guy promises that I don't know he would keep, (And my grandmother thinks he's gay, like it matters. Different generation...) and to be honest, of late, the Lib Dems have become a massive joke. The green party seems like the only decent party, or at least the party that best represents me, but even then, I wouldn't put them in control of the country. They are a one-policy party.

Maybe Screaming Lord Such wasn't so crazy after all....
