"Nazi hunter bows out with knighthood

By Roger Boyes

Simon Wiesenthal believes his work must continue to remind world of a tarnished past

SIMON WIESENTHAL, the last great Nazi hunter, will be knighted by Britain today in a tribute to his role in tracking down more than 1,000 war criminals from the Third Reich.

The presentation for the appointment as Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire, by John Macgregor, the British Ambassador to Vienna, is likely to be a poignant one. Mr Wiesenthal, now 95, is ill — so frail that the ceremony will be conducted in his living room — and has withdrawn from the active search for Nazi criminals..."

So looking good for this year's sixth place candidate.

I guess there is little chance of finding Nazi criminals in your lounge then.

At least by the time he goes, most or all of the nazis will be dead by now as well..

Well, all depends if Kurt manages to go before him.

Like "reds under the beds" it suits certain people to have us all hunting for Nazis... forever.......lest we forget our "common guilt".....which is usually paid in arms these days!

Sounds to me like your one of the benefactors.

I've certainly benefitted from not being a Nazi or coming into contact with Senator McCarthy.

And by the way, it should be "you're" rather than "your" - GR is very strict with his grammar (but lets his grandad get away lightly)..........

Lol - that's Michael Winner in splendidly annoying form

I think he falls into the death-wish-list of DL candidates rather than those with a realistic chance of going :)

1) Look at forum thread topics.

2) Notice last post in "Simon Wiesenthal" topic is by "Guest".

3) Assume "Guest" has posted a rant.

4) Assume correctly.

5) Sigh. :D

Yeah, Mr. Anti Deathlist, we’ve heard your story before. Out of the millions of websites on the Internet, you just happened to find one called deathlist.net by accident. After finding this website, you just happened to read all the posts and then just happened to be appalled that it actually discusses death. And then you freak out because Mr. Simon Wiesenthal’s name is mentioned as a possible candidate. Next!

Regarding Mr. Wiesenthal, he just celebrated his 96th birthday on December 31st and still remains in frail health. It does not look like he has much longer to go.

...you just happened to find one called deathlist.net by accident. ....

I can understand how the hard of thinking can find this site by accident when they stick a name into google and it spits this one out. I find the tirade of ill considered and illiterate drivel which follows understandable when the person being discussed is a footballer or Pope i.e. someone whom these oafs may be interested in their own simple way. What I cannot grasp is what on earth a f*****t like the poster above was doing searching the internet for references to Simon Wiesenthal in the first place.

Perhaps standards at universities have fallen further than I had previously believed.

I awoke this morning from a very clear accurate dream. The dream

was based on myself signing on to www.deathlist.net and on the top

of the screen i saw number "9!" I then scrolled down in the dream to see

who had died and there it was Simon Wisenthal had gone at age 97.

Very strange, I actually checked in the dream a numerous amount

of times to make sure if he died in which he did. I have a list of my own

and the first 3 participents are dead. Pope,Max,Sir John, and Simon is

in my number 4 spot. Perhaps 4 in a row? I can't promise anything but

i'm not so sure Simon Wisenthal is going to be around much longer.
