Also speaking of 70s/80s/90s kids TV, Peter Maddocks is still alive. Who is Peter Maddocks? The creator of the Family Ness, Jimbo and the Jet Set and many others. He's 93 now. Was also a Telegraph and Private Eye (among many others) artist for ages too.

English cartoonist Peter Maddocks (Wiki) allegedly dead at 96. Can't find anything!

Daily Express obit.

Maddocks drew cartoons for basically every British newspaper so would expect more obits to come.

John Fraser Hart (wiki), American geographer, supposedly dead at 100.

Now got a long list of Wiki articles needing proper death citations. Quite frustrating. If anyone finds anything for the following, please say:

Vera McKechnie
Philip Guard
Norman Scarth
Richard G. Candelaria
Ann Morrish
José Aveiro
Bob Seeley

Ira B. Bernstein
Peter Cummins
John Giles
James C. Floyd
John Fraser Hart

Finally, an obit appears for John Fraser Hart.

As it seems I've not covered these before...

List of European politicians born before 1930 + honorary mentions. (By population, largest first and I've numbered them to make cropping the post easier. Excluding the UK, countries partially in Asia and countries with a population of under one million as those have already been covered elsewhere. The list is not ready. I'll  slowly update this now and then.)

26. Bosnia and Herzegovina

Raif Dizdarević (1926) Former President of the Presidency of Yugoslavia

Biljana Plavšić (1930) War criminal, Republica Srpska president

Rajko Kuzmanović (1931) Social democrat

Abdulah Mutapčić (1932)

Looks like Bosnian politician and former Mayor of Zenica Abdulah Mutapčić (Wiki) died on November 29, 2013

Also another Yugoslav-Kosovo politician Ilija Vakic (Wiki) died last year on October 21, 2023

It was updated in Serbian Wiki too but without a source, anyone? Someone stated it was an obituary from Politika?

Sir Ian McKellen CBE (b. 1939) Gandalf
John Rhys-Davies (b. 1944) Gimli

Bruce Phillips (b. 1951) Grimbold
Paul Norell (b. 1952) King of the Dead
Nathaniel Lees (b. 1952) Ugluk

I'll add other big cast members (e.g. Sean Bean, Hugo Weaving, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett etc.) once they're old enough to merit any kind of attention.

Not going to do lists for The Hobbit trilogy, the animated series, radio series, or any other spin offs but this topic can be used to report their deaths too.

From The Lord of the Rings thread

British-born New Zeland actor David Weatherley (Wiki) who played Barliman Butterbur in the first movie, dead at 85

I can't find a source that's why I posted here, but it was reverted by someone, look the history, the IP is from New Zeland.

Something will turn up maybe.
