Lord Fellatio Nelson 6,218 Posted November 26, 2008 There comes a point when continually asking for spammers to be removed becomes, er, well, Spam? Doesnt it?
Godot 149 Posted November 26, 2008 I must confess that I don't understand spam. Is there any evidence to be had that it actually works? In the thousands, possibly millions as far as I know, of internet accounts that receive links and offers for porn or penis extensions is there the odd recipient who says: "You know they're right these people, my dick really is too small, I'm going to get it fixed right away, I'll click on this link and order some extra penis today, and while I'm at it I'll order some SPAM from this site and just to complete the package I'll sign up to some porn here." Is this how it works? Are there spam business kings out there sitting on great profits from their spam induced sales? And why is it that these people only seem to sell stuff related to inadequate sexual performance? Why don't they sell Tupperware or cushion covers? For all the spam visits we have had in the past few days has anyone here been tempted to buy anything or even to get in touch with any of these sites? I doubt it, so why are these people (or is it all mechanical) doing this? What's the point? And what does a spammer look like? I imagine some geezer in Bogota, sitting in a room with cases of SPAM pills and prosthetic bell ends piled high by his desk, thinking: "How the f**k am I going to shift this stuff? I wish I'd listened to my mum," while he enters code in to his lap top trying to reach a global marketplace with his useless skill picked up in spam class. Perhaps his only other option at school was Nigerian fraud studies and, being in Bogota, he picked spam as the "least worst" option. I imagine that's what happened. (Yes, I've had the misfortune to be invited on a hen weekend there, so I feel justified in being pompous) Moral, the world is full of morons and imbeciles, which is why the shopping channel exists. I went to Butlins in Bognor Regis a few years ago in winter and heard Brian Poole singing "Silence is Golden." It was a special moment. The Nolan Sisters were on the next night but I'd gone by then. I'd like to say it was the Tremeloes but this was Brian Poole and the Electrics although Poole was genuine enough. I guess he couldn't persuade the Tremeloes to go there with him. I haven't yet been spammed by Butlins although I recall there was spam aplenty on the menu.

maryportfuncity 10,640 Posted December 2, 2008 don_james300@yahoo.com - Dear Friend, I am Mr Don James ,the head of auditing and accounting section of one of the leading banks here in Lome-Togo, West Africa . With due respect and regard, I have decided to contact you on a business transaction that will be very beneficial to both of us. During our investigation and auditing in this bank, my department came across a very huge sum of money belonging to a deceased person , Mr Robert S. Ellis who died on 26th December 2004 in a car accident here in Lome .From the information that our bank have gotten so far, the accident killed him with his entire family .The person that he used as his next of kin was his 17 year old son who died along side with the family. Although personally, I keep this information secret within myself to enable the whole plans and idea be Profitable and successful during the time of execution . The said amount was (U.S$9.5M United States Dollars Only). Meanwhile all the whole arrangement to put claim over this fund as the bonafide next of kin to the deceased, get the required approval and transfer this money to a reign account has been put in place and directives and needed information will be relayed to you as soon as you indicate your interest and willingness to assist me and also benefit your self to this great business opportunity. Infact, i could have done this deal alone but because of my position in this country as a civil servant(A Banker),we are not allowed to operate a foreign account and would eventually raise an eye brow on my side during the time of tra ns fer because I work in this bank. This is the actual reason why it will require a second foreign party or fellow who will forward claims as the next of kin with affidavit of trust of oath to the Bank and also present a foreign account where he will need the money to be re-transferred into on his request as it may be after due verification and clarification by the correspondent branch of the bank where the whole money will be remitted to your own designation bank account. I wil l not fail to inform you that this transaction is 100% risk free. On smooth conclusion of this transaction, we will negotiate on a sharing ratio that will benefit each party. Please, you have been advised to keep it as a "top secret" as I am still in service and intend to retire from service after I conclude this deal with you. I will be monitoring the whole situation here in this bank until you confirm the money in your account and ask me to come down to your country for subsequent sharing of the fund according to percentages indicated and further investment, either in your country or any country or any country. All other necessary information will be sent to you when I hear from you. Yours faithfully,Don James

Dead O'Gonner 1 Posted February 5, 2009 Well that certianly freaked me out. I though DL had moved into catering for other non-English speaking countries. I currently live in France, Bretagne to be precise, and for a second had a scary notion that DL had a sister french site which i had stumbled apon. How many french have appeared in DL? may have to look at that, sorry slight tangent of thought. Are there any other Expats about?? I may start a new thread Brits stiff as-abroard lol Name may need a rethink.

Oh you could say there are the odd one or two about. In fact the Brits actually still living in Britain seem to be the rare breed on this site. In the Venn diagram of life those of us falling into Brit, expat and DL member are common as muck!
