Guest Grave Mistake Posted April 7, 2009 Bloody huge list but I expect it will start thinning out quickly at the top end... Nearly all of them are really well-known celebs in Australia, so any deaths would receive a lot of media coverage here. UK obits would be the challenge. That's all from me. Please keep the list up to date, as it shrinks down over time! Cheers. ***************** Isadora Duncan, a scarf and a Bugatti: Ingredients for the best death ever! Applecool Downunder 10 Posted April 7, 2009 Philip Newell, former Anglican Bishop of Hobart, is another who is starting to get on a bit. His son, also an Anglican priest and prominent university professopr, recently committed suicide (he had suffered from chronic disablities all of his life and was wheelchair-bound.) Sarah Douglass was only born in 1957, according to her wiki page... Any reason why she may drop? Cheers. I heard something of ill health for Sara Douglass before Christmas but cannot remember what is wrong. Philip Newell is not so old. Didn't realise his son suicided, though I knew he died.
VSBfromH 74 Posted April 7, 2009 I would have thought Sir Charles Mackerras worthy of a mention, very much an Aussie despite having been born in New York. Still very active at the ripe old age of 83 - maybe he should start taking it easy!

Guest Grave Mistake Posted April 7, 2009 Anyone from the Neighbours cast past or present nearing the end? Just thought of the Scully family anc the father character who got sacked for drink/drug abuse, how is he? I haven't watched Neighbours since I was about 10, so don't know modern cast members. Vivean Gray (Mrs Mangel), Ian Smith (Harold Bishop), Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan are all on the list. Not sure if Imbruglia was a cast member for a while??? I'd never heard of Sir Charles Mackerras. Thanks for telling me about him. By the way, since Australia's oldest man is top of the list, here is the oldest woman: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._Beatrice_Riley The old girl was born in 1896... I always find it a little strange and eerie to think that there are people who were born during Queen Vic's reign still alive amongst us in the 21st Century!!! Cheers. ***************** Isadora Duncan, a scarf and a Bugatti: Ingredients for the best death ever!
Body Snatcher 44 107 Posted April 7, 2009 From above: "Bud Tingwell (92) - Brilliant Australian Actor, but getting on a bit though." He's only 86. Spring chicken. G'Day all. Just replying to the accusation the Bud Tingwell is only 86. I Have a link here that claims his year of birth is 1917. Why are you calling me "Spring Chicken"? Also we MUST include Rose Porteous-Hancock (61) - Australia's answer to Anna Nicole-Smith but no-where near as attractive as Smith was. She NEEDS to be included on the list as she appears to be ill and the list would be incomplete without her anyway.

Guest Grave Mistake Posted April 7, 2009 What about that looney Tasmanian bloke who shot all those people and was into beastiality ? Ha - security code is boasting names, which seems to be what'shappening in this thread The Tasmanian mass murderer was Martin Bryant. Not worth mentioning - I was hesitant to put Ivan Milat on the list, as their type don't deserve the publicity. Bryant wasn't into bestiality, as far as I am aware. No idea what your second sentence means. Please improve spelling, grammar and punctuation next time. However, if you think I am just being a "name dropper", no, that is not the case at all. The list is excessive, I will admit, but they are all famous Aussies. Part A is mainly old ones and in, Part B, well, wild guesses are what make Death List more fun. The list will be more manageable once a few of the oldies drop off. I am leaving it in the hands of the regular posters here, not guests like you and I. ************ To Body Snatcher, thanks for past suggestions! "Rose Hancock = Anna Nicole Smith" made me laugh. It is probably very true. Anyway, that is all from me, as I have said twice already. This time I really do mean it. I have a trip to go on over Easter and I will refrain from posting in the future. I am just going to sit back and see who dies... Hope this list leaves you all with a really good start with regards to potential Aussie deaths. Cheers. ***************** Isadora Duncan, a scarf and a Bugatti: Ingredients for the best death ever!

I was calling him a spring chicken, namely young compared to 92. Jeanette Howard ought to be considered too.

I also read somewhere he liked beastilaity porn, not that that is relevant as to whether he might die. On the subject of Australian Killers, what's the likelihood that Catherine Birnie will follow her husbands example and off herself in prison? Sorry that killers don't interest you, GM but they are among us and they do tend to get publicity when they die.

Typhoid Harry 23 Posted April 8, 2009 Our Oz guesty really should register, seriously the most worthwhile visitor in ages. I'll be back down for Sydney Hobart on Boxing day this year, perhaps we cold get drunk? Brisbane is a trek from there, though.

Ra Ra Rasputin 99 Posted April 11, 2009 Film director and former AFL-er, Robert Dickson killed in a car crash. Not on the list either, but then again car crashes are difficult to predict unless you're Prince Philip or a member of MI6. Allegedly. Aussie obit here. Unlikey to get a UK obit though. Ra Ra Rasputin 99 Posted April 13, 2009 Didn't know Amphlett had MS... I'm pretty certain the only reason she even announced her illness was because there were rumours she was back on the sauce. Apparently she has mild damage from MS, but (according to her website) it isn't currently active. Probably going to be around for a whole lot longer, but MS is an uncertain disease.
