His best known work would most likely be Skippy, the Bush Kangaroo; he directed nearly half the episodes.
VSBfromH 74 Posted December 17, 2010 Jack Stackpoole One of only 2 men to dismiss Don Bradman first ball has died aged 93. Other than that his cricket career was very short and unremarkable, playing just 3 matches for Queensland before the outbreak of WWII.

Ra Ra Rasputin 99 Posted January 28, 2011 Apart from already battling with MS, Divinyls singer Chrissy Amphlett has now been diagnosed with breast cancer. In fairness, she looked in fine fettle the other week on "Spicks And Specks", but a combination of the two diseases isn't the best recipe for life. (Edited to correct info and not look such a twit. Thanks Honez). Looks like Chrissy Amphlett has beaten at least one of her illnesses. Glad I didn't put her on my DDP now.

Davey Jones' Locker 1,324 Posted February 4, 2011 Hey Aussies, I didn't see it but someone I know watched the tripe that is A Current Affair tonight and they did a story on Jeanne Little who has apparently gone down hill very quickly with Alzheimer's Disease. They say she is extremely frail.... Her Wiki entry doesn't have any info about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeanne_Little but I found this from a few years ago: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertain...0-1225803900921
Davey Jones' Locker 1,324 Posted February 14, 2011 Renee Geyer might be one to watch. She had a huge drug and alcohol problem back in her day (think the Australian answer to Amy Winehouse) and has been battling breast cancer. Now she has just had her second car crash within the space of a few months: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/02/14/3138664.htm

My sister picked Patsy King (governor Erica Davidson) in her DDP list so I'm very pleased to see she's looking in fine health. Quite surprised at how old Elspeth Ballantyne (Saint Meg) looked however - I know she's a couple of years older than most of the cast, Davo and Lizzie excepted, but she seemed and sounded rather frail. Vinegar Tits 606 Posted May 18, 2011 That's sad news about Bill Hunter. Of course, he was in Prisoner Cell Block H as well, playing George Lucas (not that one), a nasty piece of work who had a fling with my forum namesake and strung her along.

JR976evil 906 Posted May 20, 2011 Surprised that no-one has mentioned Bill Kerr (b. 1922) actor of the stage and screen, born in Cape Town, South Africa but raised in Wagga Wagga. He was based for several decades in the UK and appeared in films, TV and radio, is probably best known for his regular role on Hancock's Half Hour playing a dim-witted Aussie. He eventually returned to Oz and has appeared in several stage productions and films including Gallipoli, The Year Of Living Dangerously, and Razorback. His passing would likely generate some minor UK media coverage owing to his lengthy stint in Blighty.
Davey Jones' Locker 1,324 Posted May 21, 2011 Surprised that no-one has mentioned Bill Kerr (b. 1922) actor of the stage and screen Probably because he is not very well known here. I vaguely knew his name but that is all. Of the films listed in his Wikipedia article, the only one that I have seen is Year of Living Dangerously. From what you are saying, it sounds like he is better known in the UK than he is at home. Definistely not a high profile actor like Bill Hunter.

I'm pretty certain he gets a mention in the Hancock's Half Hour thread. He would definitely get a UK obit. Oh and just to answer the question I asked earlier, Kitty Bluett is long dead, died in 1994.
