themaninblack 2,112 Posted May 31, 2010 What's the problem? The autopsy is not likely to point out that the man is still alive, is it? And the DDP-rules do not exclude a murder- or suicide-victim from scoring, the only exception to that is when the 'celeb' (loosely used, in this case) is murdered by the DDP-player. ("That's cheating, and cheating is wrong.") If Vaagy can prove that he was nowhere around LA last week, he shouldn't be too worried about that, me thinks. The only reason for delay could be the unnatural causes-bonus. Why wait for that? TMIB can award the regular points and add the bonus later if the autopsy report should indicate anything irregular. From the DDP site: On top of this, bonus points are awarded as follows: Unique pick: +3 if you were the only competitor to pick that person. Unlucky 13: +2 for a celeb who dies on the 13th of any month. Unnatural causes: +3 for murder, suicide or accident (but not State executions). I shall award points for the death but no more until it is proven that he died of unnatural causes...
Toast 16,137 Posted May 31, 2010 Out of interest, MIB, if such a death occurred late in the year, and the autopsy verdict gave an unnatural cause but wasn't announced until January+, would the bonus be awarded retrospectively?

No. Once the competition passes the end date of 31/12, any obituaries/autopsy reports must be publically aired before then or points will not count.

Sir Creep 7,070 Posted January 24, 2019 Brittany Murphy’s dad, Angelo Bertolotti, died on Tuesday, January 22, in Los Angeles, Radar Online reports. He was 92. A source told the website that Bertolotti had been “unconscious” for “a couple of months” prior to his death. “There were complications,” the insider added. The news comes nine years after Bertolotti’s daughter, who was known for her roles in films such as 8 Mile, Clueless and Uptown Girls, died suddenly at the age of 32. Murphy collapsed in the bathroom of her Los Angeles-area home on December 20, 2009, telling her mom, Sharon Murphy, that she was having trouble breathing. It was later ruled that she died from a combination of pneumonia, anemia and multiple drug intoxication. SC
