Andy Paley, who made a living of writing songs mostly for cartoons such as The Ren & Stimpy Show, Digimon, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Camp Lazlo and producing albums for artists such as Brian Wilson, Jonathan Richman, NRBQ, John Wesley Harding, the Greenberry Woods, and Jerry Lee Lewis, has died aged 72.

Premature? The source is a facebook post writing about his "impending passing" and that "Andy is leaving us". The only tweets from today are about how he is in hospice. I mean, I'm sure he's probably 99% dead, but better safe than sorry.

Hang in there Andy, potentially our next Little Jimmy Dickens, a minor musical figure who hit terminal illness just as a year turned and suddenly gathered a fan-base of dead poolers - yer man below died 2 Jan 2015, and contributed mightily to the scores of dead pool teams

Andy Paley Dead https://variety.com/2024/music/news/andy-paley-brian-wilson-collaborator-spongebob-dead-1236216365/

The author of the piece is mentioned as one of the two people whose announcement would be a genuine one.
