Former Miss Nigeria and sister to famous actor Hank Anuku, Rita Anuku, has died. Rita, who won the Miss Nigeria pageant in 1986, died yesterday July 2nd in a hospital in Abuja after a battle with cancer. The mother of four was just 47 years old. Loving, who was crowned as Miss Nelson in March, was injured in a car crash June 26 near Shipman, Virginia. Was a 1-car accident wrapped around a tree. Sounds like she was taking a selfie. Anyway, being 16 means she just passed her driving test. Yessir..... A Pennsylvania beauty queen has been jailed on accusations of faking cancer, an elaborate scheme that led to her benefiting from thousands of dollars of donation money. Brandi Lee Weaver-Gates, a 23-year-old reigning Miss Pennsylvania U.S. International, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of theft by deception and receiving stolen property. Weaver-Gates led everyone to believe she had been diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia in March 2013.The young woman went so far as to shave her head and have family members drive her to Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment. The autopsy results are in for the Long Island dermatologist who was left for dead in a Chelsea apartment building vestibule. The NYC Medical Examiner's Office said that Kiersten Cerveny, 38, died of "acute cocaine and alcohol intoxication." Cerveny, who grew up in NJ and won the "America's Junior Miss" pageant, practiced dermatology in Brooklyn and Manhattan. She and her husband had three young children.
